NBA DFS: Targets for 1/3

Our NBA DFS night is packed with 12 games. It’s getting to a time of the season where you’ll want to start paying more attention to back-to-back games. Tonight, there are three teams that are on the second game of their B2B: Cleveland, Phoenix, and San Antonio. The Cavaliers and Suns are on a home-road B2B, while the Spurs are on a road B2B.

P.S. – Happy New Year, everyone!

We also have a DFS account on Twitter, so be sure to give it a follow!

The targets:

Jamal Murray (DEN vs. PHO)

FanDuel: $7,300 (SG)/DraftKings: $6,700 (SG)

Murray’s price jumped up $800 on FD, and $500 on DK. Assuming he keeps producing, you’ll want to play him now before his next price increase. Murray has clocked at least 35 minutes in his last three games, with at least 21 points and 8 rebounds during this span. The Nuggets are playing a home game against the Suns. As mentioned, the Suns are on a home-road B2B, but they should also be one of the higher-paced teams of the night. This game could be one of the highest scoring of the night, and other players in this game can also be rostered.

Bradley Beal (WAS vs. NYK)

FanDuel: $8,400 (SG)/DraftKings: $7,700 (SG)

Beal is a “safe” play, but you’ll want to take a look at John Wall‘s minutes. Whenever he plays 37-38 minutes, he plays less minutes in the next game. The Wizards are projected to win by a good margin. If this is the case, Wall’s minutes will probably be capped in the mid-30’s, especially with playing almost 41 minutes in his last game. Beal’s usage without Wall on the court is at 32.4%. The Knicks have lost five out of their last six games, and the Wizards will want to capitalize on that to widen their lead in the division. For me, Beal’s fantasy points will lead the Wizards tonight.

Andrew Wiggins (MIN @ BKN)

FanDuel: $5,800 (SF)/DraftKings: $6,200 (SF)

It’s been hard to play Wiggins because he doesn’t quite do enough to make value. He had a great game against the Lakers on New Years Day, with scoring points and rebounds. It was also the first time he scored more than 29 fantasy points since December 12th. While high fantasy-point games have been far and few between for Wiggins, I like his chances for it tonight against the Nets. Karl-Anthony Towns and Jimmy Butler will be popular, but if you’re looking for a more affordable way to get exposure to this game, Wiggins is a target. For his price, especially on FD, you’ll be able to pay up in other positions and reap the benefits if Wiggins can have another 35+ fantasy-point night.

Al Horford (BOS vs. CLE)

FanDuel: $7,500 (C)/DraftKings: $7,100 (C)

All eyes won’t be in Isaiah Thomas on the court since he’ll be sitting this one out. Horford could be overlooked in this game. His price has come up a little on FD, while it dropped by $700 on DK. On either site, many will want to pay up, or down. I think there’s potential in this game for Horford to exceed 5x value. Front court opponents of the Cavs usually fair well against them, and if Horford can get rebounds in the double-digits, he should be in good shape.

Other targets to consider:

Kris Dunn (CHI vs. TOR)

FanDuel: $8,000 (PG)/DraftKings: $6,900 (PG) – on DK

J.J. Redick (PHI vs. SAS)

FanDuel: $5,400 (SG)/DraftKings: $5,400 (SG) – on both sites

Serge Ibaka (TOR  @ CHI)

FanDuel: $5,800 (PF)/DraftKings: $5,300 (PF) – on both sites

David West (GSW @ DAL)

FanDuel: $3,700 (PF)/DraftKings: $3,400 (PF) – on both sites if Draymond Green is out

Julius Randle (LAL vs. OKC)

FanDuel: $6,900 (PF)/DraftKings: $5,700 (PF) – on DK

Thank you for reading, and good luck with your picks!
