Where I’m Lower
Ben Roethlisberger
Both Damian and Ron are much higher on Ben Roethlisbeger than me. They have him as a top 5 fantasy quarterback in 2016. I have my doubts for a couple of reasons including a lack of weapons. I love Antonio Brown in 2016 who is my number one player overall but outside of Brown who can you trust. Markus Wheaton can be a useful third option at best but if he’s relied on to make plays every week you are asking too much. Sammie Coates is also there but he’s another young player whose ability as a pass catcher I highly doubt. Ladarius Green has potential but oft injured tight end still has a ton to prove at the NFL level. Big Ben has never reached 5,000 yards although he was on pace for that total a season ago. He’s only broken the 30 touchdown total twice in his career. Add in that he will have a healthy Le’veon Bell to lean on this season as well. I still have him as a QB1 this season but would rather target Drew Brees, Carson Palmer, and Philip Rivers.
Where I’m Higher
Kirk Cousins
I am drinking the Kirk Cousins Kool Aid for 2016. He broke out a season with 4,000 plus yards and 29 touchdowns finishing with the 9th most fantasy points at the position. Cousins had 6 top 5 quarterback weeks with 3 of those coming in weeks 14-16 aka the fantasy playoffs. He also had eight 20 plus point weeks and a 19.8 week if you want to include that for 9 strong weeks. This season Washington added Josh Doctson to a core of Jordan Reed, Pierre Garcon, Desean Jackson and Jamison Crowder. Doctson adds another real red zone threat which should help Cousins stay productive if Reed misses time. Cousins also utilizes his legs to add to his potential output. Expecting 5 plus touchdowns is not something I’d recommend but two or three feels pretty safe. Cousins should be in the top 10 conversation again this season.
