The Magic Number-Scott Fish Bowl week 11 preview

After a tough week 10 win vs Fake Pigskin’s own Regan Yant my team seems to be getting hot at the right time in the Scott Fish Bowl. I’m currently sitting at 7 wins with two weeks to go for the magic “8” wins that would mean an automatic berth to the championship round.I don’t neccesarily need to reach the 8 win threshold to make it but I’d rather not leave it up to chance as the three teams in front of me keep winning. Its been a tough season so far, the competition is the best of the best but thankfully I have been fortunate enough with injuries and hitting on a few low level free agents that have come through huge when I needed them.I’ll be facing another industry giant this week as Zach Law puts his best foot forward to make his own playoff push.Speaking of Zach, I thought this would be a good week to point out the work that he did before the season. Zach took the time to set up an interview questionnaire with all 360 entrants and compiled them..not an easy task but I thought it was a cool idea.Below are my answers to his questionnaire for anybody interested.

Can you give me a two-sentence introduction to your fantasy football “personna”? Feel free to include your Twitter handle. Id consider myself old school for sure..still love my RB.I’m a stubborn dude, don’t try to buy low on my under performing [email protected]

Who in your division do you want to take down the most? Cant really say there’s anybody I want to beat more than the next guy..I’m an equal opportunity kind of dude..Iwant to beat everyone.

What kind of “strategy” do you plan to employ during this unusual QB flex draft? C’mon want my strategy before the draft!?!?Just kidding..I’m taking the Kenny Darter approach;)

What is one non-fantasy football talent that would shock and awe the rest of the league? Im not sure what the question is here?Looking for a sleeper? If so:Cole Beasley.

Nothing life changing in my answers here..I just thought it was an interesting idea by Zach and cool to look back on..if interested, every participant’s answers can be found on Zach’s website

With the season drawing to a close I thought it would be a good time to look at how my roster sits and how and when these guys were acquired.. this is what I’m working with:

Cousins, Kirk WAS QB 164.92  Blind Bid Waiver $22
Roethlisberger, Ben PIT QB (P) 126.23 Draft 4.10
Tannehill, Ryan MIA QB 171.11 Draft 5.03

Walters, Bryan JAC WR (P) 69.60 Free Waiver
Washington, Nate HOU WR (P) 90.30 Blind Bid Waiver $3
Bennett, Martellus CHI TE 105.90 Draft 9.03
Green, Ladarius SDC TE (Q) 86.40 Draft 13.03
Watson, Ben NOS TE 119.10 Blind Bid Waiver $3

Just a quick review of how my players were acquired I’ve had  quite a bit more luck picking up players after blind bid waivers run. I’m not sure why this is but what I tried to do is pick up players who I felt would have a chance at increased playing time. That strategy has seemed to work so far so..I just picked up Latimore this week as I’m hoping he will get more looks with Osweiler at the helm. Hopefully he can come through like some of the others have.

Well thats it for this week folks..check back next week to see if I can reach the elusive 8 win mark and good luck to all who are trying to make that playoff push.
