Happy Monday Hoop Heads! We have a great week ahead of us: the New Year around the corner, college bowl season in full swing, and of course, another great week of basketball. We switched things up this week, as I will be doing the daily article today. Ricky will be writing tomorrow’s piece. So for those of you who are used to Ricky, I hope I can fill that void enough until tomorrow. As for

Happy Friday Hoop Heads! I hope that everyone had a great holiday season. The New Year is right around the corner, but we are in full swing for daily play. As fellow FakeRoundball writer Ricky said yesterday, lets keep riding that wave of good vibes and get straight into fantasy advice. Nine games are on the schedule tonight, so allons-y with the picks: Start ‘Em Anthony Davis vs Nuggets – I haven’t been able

Now that the holidays are over, there are no gimmicks to tonight’s notes. We’re all feeling well and good after relaxing with family yesterday so let’s not kill the buzz by losing money tonight. Ride out the happy streak by following my instructions tonight and let the joy seep into the weekend. No more talk; just fantasy advice. Here we go. So without further ado, here are the guys I will have in my lineup

Five games on the NBA slate for Xmas day. Largest point spread is eight points. Expect another competitive day of hoops. Having such close point spreads is usually music to fantasy owners ears. You want to know that your starters play all four quarters and give you 35 plus minutes a game. 35 plus minutes a game for your starters usually mean another successful night in the world of fantasy basketball. The fantasy preacher is

Merry Christmas Eve Eve. With 11 games on the slate tonight, there will be plenty of fantasy presents to choose from to provide yourself. Don’t worry about re-gifting someone like Francisco Garcia if you used him the other night because a certain someone won’t be playing again tonight (I discuss later in the article). Also, don’t be afraid to get yourself something nice even if it is a little expensive. Yes, there are plenty of

As we said in our AFC North preview, if you’re in your league’s championship game, good luck, and happy holidays! MINNESTOA VIKINGS at Cincinnati Bengals Matt Cassell had a huge game last week against the Bears, with 3 total scores and over 400 total yards. He should come back to earth this week, and can’t even be considered a QB2 against a Bengals defense giving up the 8th fewest points to opposing fantasy QBs.

Two simple words for you if you’ve made it this far into your fantasy season – GOOD LUCK! Minnesota Vikings at CINCINNATI BENGALS In the two games after his clunker against the Chargers, Andy Dalton threw for over 500 yards, 5 TDs and 0 INTs. Last week against the Eagles the Vikings defense gave up over 400 yards passing. Dalton is a legitimate top-10 option this week. This also bodes well for A.J.

Congratulations guys, you’re made it to the finals! This week I’ll try and go into a little more detail into my recommendations and the thought processes behind them. Go get that championship! Denver Broncos @ Houston Texans (Sunday 1.00pm ET) Lets be clear, this is a matchup between one of the best teams in the NFL and one of the worst. The Texans defence isn’t awful, but the Broncos have made even good defences crumble.

Congratulations guys, you’re made it to the finals! This week I’ll try and go into a little more detail into my recommendations and the thought processes behind them. Go get that championship! Arizona Cardinals @ Seattle Seahawks (Sunday 4.05pm ET) The weather could be a factor in this one, and at present (Saturday morning) there is a 60% chance of rain. If this game sees a lot of rain it is going to seriously

Nine exciting games on NBA slate tonight. Only one of the nine games have a double digit spread. Expect another night of close competitive games. In the world of fantasy basketball, you want close games so your key players don’t sit during blowouts. So when I see only one double digit spread, I know my key players will be playing quality minutes tonight. Remember what the fantasy preacher has been preaching? To win in daily

Perfection: the condition, state, or quality of being free or as free as possible from all flaws or defects. That definition, courtesy of Google, personifies Thursday night lineups. With so little margin for error, it pays to take the extra steps of research and rotation studying. Luckily for you, I do the work for you. The four teams playing tonight are an interesting mix: Bulls, Thunder, Spurs and Warriors. Two defensive-minded, slower-paced teams and two offensive

Since we didn’t have an article yesterday, let me be the first to welcome you Hoop Heads to another week of fantasy basketball. The year may be starting to wind down, but we are just a quarter of the way through the basketball season. Tonight, we have five games on the schedule and all teams are form the Western Conference except for two. The Western Conference has been brutal this year, while the Eastern Conference

CHICAGO BEARS at Cleveland Browns Jay Cutler provides an interesting dilemma for owners this week. He was impressive early on in the season, but not to the extent that Josh McCown has been. Then there’s the memory of him returning against the Cowboys, only to aggravate his injury and miss a further 4 games. If he plays a full game, he should have around 275 yards and 2 scores. Brandon Marshall should be the main beneficiary of

Chicago Bears at CLEVELAND BROWNS Finally, Josh Gordon has some company as a Browns player worth considering for fantasy purposes! Obviously, you’ll be starting Gordon given his superhuman performance and production this season. His current pace extrapolated over a full 16 game season would have him at 2,036 yards and 11 TDs. Gordon is our #2 ranked WR this week, and he isn’t far behind Calvin in those rankings. Jordan Cameron finally showed some signs

Arizona Cardinals @ Tennessee Titans (Sunday 4.25pm ET) Carson Palmer will lead the Cardinals out in a really tough game this week as they bid to maintain a playoff run. Palmer was hurt last week and is officially Questionable but he is expected to start. Palmer had a decent game last week but the matchup was very favourable. Those who have used Palmer to lead them to the fantasy playoffs should be warned. I think

We’re one game away from a shot at the title… Stay calm and don’t get too cute with your lineups. I’ll see you next week… Kansas City Chiefs @ Oakland Raiders (Sunday 4.05pm ET) Alex Smith threw 2 TDs to bump up his fantasy score to around the 14 mark, but don’t be too concerned as this game was over before halftime and Smith wasn’t required to throw the ball much in the second

Today is your lucky day…or maybe unlucky depending on how you look at it. Friday the 13th is here, and ironically enough we have thirteen games on the schedule for tonight. It has been a crazy week in basketball, and tonight sure doesn’t seem to disappoint. Seven games tonight have over/unders above 200 points and then there are two games with the line below 180 points. Tonight should be such a great mix of basketball

I think this would be a week to start any Atlanta Falcons player that you have…..or at least the relevant ones. Matt Ryan plays great at home, which will only benefit the rest of his team. Super Geno (haha) heads into Carolina to take on Super Cam and the mad Panthers after their crushing loss at the hands of the Saints last week. Nice matchup of the bay teams, as the 49ers head into Tampa

You know the feeling. You go out to an expensive dinner for a special occasion with your significant other and/or family. You sit down and gaze at the menu and you begin eyeing the steak. You’re just in the mood for it, and you are starving, so you assume the thick meatiness of a medium prepared filet mignon will be more than enough. Twenty minutes later, you spot your waiter heading towards you. You see

Nine games on the NBA slate tonight. Only two of the nine games have spreads above ten points. Expect another night of close, exciting games. The Dallas/Golden State game should be a very high scoring tilt based on their total of 210 points. | Josh Gordon will be suspended for the entire season |
|
The year long suspension for Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon has been upheld per multiple media reports. The potential for a reduced suspension seemed somewhat realistic with a delay in decision on his appeal. The Browns offense will take a huge hit without him. Owners in dynasty leagues may want to make a move for Gordon who has number one wide receiver upside. The price will never be lower than after with this news.

| Brian Hoyer named starter over Johnny Manziel |
|
The Cleveland Browns have named Brain Hoyer their starting quarterback for week one. This may or may not be a shock to everyone. Johnny Manziel will likely start at some point this season. When that it happens depends on how well Hoyer and the Browns do to begin the season. Hoyer helped Josh Gordon and Jordan Cameron be fantasy stars last season. Manziel taking over shouldn’t hurt the pass catchers in this offense.

| Tampa Bay Buccaneers Charles Sims will undergo Surgery |
|
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers Charles Sims will undergo surgery on the ankle he injured in practice. Sims is expected to be out for 12-14 weeks. This should be good news for Doug Martin owners, as Sims seemed the likely contender to carries in Tampa Bay. Bobby Rainey, Mike James and Jeff Demps are all vying for carries as well. Sims could be a worth add from the waiver wire depending on how the early part of the season goes.

| Marcell Ozuna |
|
Ozuna went 2-4 with two RBI, and a home run. His second game in a row with a HR. Ozuna had been struggling, but it may be possible the struggles are over. He is still producing some good HR numbers, if he can cut down on the strikeouts things could turn around for him.
|
|
| Chris Sale |
|
Sale came off the DL in a big way Thursday night, throwing six shutout innings with ten strikeouts. Sale had a no- hitter going into the sixth, but with two outs Zolio Almonte singled to center to break it up. According to Sale and manager Robin Ventura, they had discussed before the game that even if Sale had been throwing perfect game he was not pitching more than six innings.
|
|
| Dallas Keuchel |
|
Keuchel dominated again Monday night against the Angels. Throwing almost his second complete game in consecutive outings. Keuchel threw 8.2 innings, allowing 5 hits, 2 earned runs, and he stroke out 8. Keuchel has been very tough, not allowing no more than 4 runs in his nin starts. He will look to continue his dominance on Saturday against Seattle.

| Sebastian Coates, Sunderland – DEF |
|
The Black Cats made a pair of signings on deadline day for season-long loans. Coates joins from Liverpool and Ricardo Alvarez from Inter Milan. Coates struggled to get any pitch time in his three seasons at Liverpool, making only 24 appearances including just six starts. The defender suffered a major knee injury last summer, but should be set for plenty of pitch time at Sunderland. Alvarez was part of the 2014 Argentina squad that lost 0-1 to Germany in the final and picked up 14 goals in 90 appearances for Inter. Source: bbc.com

| Hatem Ben Arfa, Hull City – MID |
|
Ben Arfa will join Hull City on a season long loan deal with Newcastle United that required a deadline extension of two hours to get the deal done. Club manager Steve Bruce was quite busy on the day, signing four players including Uruguay International Abel Hernandez, Gaston Ramirez from Southampton and Mohammed Diame from West Ham United. Ben Arfa and Ramirez are season-long loan deals while Hernandez and Diame both inked themselves three year deals with their new club. Source: foxsports.com
|
|
| George Boyd, Burnley – MID |
|
The newly promoted club made a trio of moves on deadline day including Boyd coming over from Hull City on a three year deal. Boyd had preformed well at Hull, but failed to earn any consistent playing time. Now he will bolster the Clarets midfield position. Michael Keane joins the defensive line after making only five appearances for Manchester United, most recently playing in the 1-1 draw between the two clubs last week. Nathaniel Chalobah joins Burnley from Chelsea on a loan deal and despite not having any Premiership time, the midfielder has impressed while on loan at multiple clubs. Source: …
