Today is your lucky day…or maybe unlucky depending on how you look at it. Friday the 13th is here, and ironically enough we have thirteen games on the schedule for tonight. It has been a crazy week in basketball, and tonight sure doesn’t seem to disappoint. Seven games tonight have over/unders above 200 points and then there are two games with the line below 180 points. Tonight should be such a great mix of basketball whether you’re a defensive guru who likes low scoring or someone who wants to see buckets as big as the ocean. Plenty of games means plenty of opportunities of different lineups in tonight’s games. Here are my picks for tonight, allons-y!
DeMar DeRozan vs Sixers – For those of you that read my articles, the first time I recommended DeRozan, he went off for 33 points in 38 minutes. Anybody remember the team he played that night? That’s right, the Sixers. Defense continues to be non-existent for a team giving up over 110 points a game, so continue to play the big scorers until something changes.

Jrue Holiday vs Grizzlies – The Pelicans have needed someone to step up in the absence of Anthony Davis, and Holiday has finally begun to play like the player they traded for this past draft. His last five games he has averaged over 18 points, and almost 6 rebounds and 9 assists. Holiday will continue to get big minutes on the floor with Tyreke Evans still battling through injury. I do want to mention that Tony Allen will play tonight, but with a banged up hip, it will be tough for him to keep up with the fast-paced offense of the Pelicans.
Goran Dragic vs Kings – I personally don’t know of a player more improved this season than Dragic. He has surpassed expectations that people had in the Suns and his partnership with Eric Bledsoe has made them one of the most fun teams to watch. Tonight he gets matched up with Ben Mclemore, a rookie still going through growing pains of playing in the NBA. Last game Dragic dropped 30, tonight could very well be a repeat performance.
Any Bobcats or Pacers player – Remember how I said that two games had a spread of fewer than 180 points? Well this is one of them. This game features two teams that rank in the top 3 in the league in defense. While I think Paul George and Kemba Walker can put up some solid numbers, the low scoring and uncertainty makes it hard to spend the big money in daily play tonight.
John Henson vs Bulls – I was lucky enough to play Henson Tuesday night when he had his monster game against the Bulls. Tonight, I’m sure most people will be looking for retribution from the following night’s turd on the court against the Spurs. So while this is the Bulls team that Henson put up 25/14 against, remember that was without Noah in the lineup. Henson should still have a solid game, but with Noah being back, don’t expect another night like Tuesday night.
Kobe Bryant vs Thunder – Like I mentioned in my last article, I am a firm believer in the Black Mamaba. I fully expect him to make a return similar to his pre-injury form of last year. But tonight’s matchup is not a good one for his old knees. He still needs to find his shooting rhythm before I can justify spending almost $7000 on him in daily play. I still would wait a couple more games before using him confidently in my lineup.
