Josh Gordon will be suspended for the entire season
August 27, 2014 at 10:22 am

The year long suspension for Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon has been upheld per multiple media reports. The potential for a reduced suspension seemed somewhat realistic with a delay in decision on his appeal. The Browns offense will take a huge hit without him. Owners in dynasty leagues may want to make a move for Gordon who has number one wide receiver upside. The price will never be lower than after with this news.

Brian Hoyer named starter over Johnny Manziel
August 20, 2014 at 10:16 am

The Cleveland Browns have named Brain Hoyer their starting quarterback for week one. This may or may not be a shock to everyone. Johnny Manziel will likely start at some point this season. When that it happens depends on how well Hoyer and the Browns do to begin the season. Hoyer helped Josh Gordon and Jordan Cameron be fantasy stars last season. Manziel taking over shouldn’t hurt the pass catchers in this offense.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Charles Sims will undergo Surgery
August 15, 2014 at 12:04 pm

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers Charles Sims will undergo surgery on the ankle he injured in practice. Sims is expected to be out for 12-14 weeks. This should be good news for Doug Martin owners, as Sims seemed the likely contender to carries in Tampa Bay. Bobby Rainey, Mike James and Jeff Demps are all vying for carries as well. Sims could be a worth add from the waiver wire depending on how the early part of the season goes.

Dwayne Bowe will be suspended for one game
August 15, 2014 at 9:37 am

The Kansas City Chiefs Dwayne Bowe has been suspended for the first game of the season. This will drop him slightly in my rankings. Owners who worry about receiver taken early in their draft may want to target Bowe, who will provide stability. He is currently coming off the board as a 10th round pick and receiver forty-two per myfantasyleague.com. His ADP will likely drop with the news, giving even more value to Bowe.

Steven Jackson back doing light work in practice
August 13, 2014 at 3:57 pm

After it seemed like Atlanta Falcons running back Steven Jackson would be out for all of training camp, he was seen doing light work on Monday. Jackson participated in agility drills during practice. While the Falcons will likely play it safe with Jackson, the probability of him being ready for week 1 seems much higher than it did a week ago. Jackson owners should target rookie Devonta Freeman towards the end of drafts.

Bengals receiver Marvin Jones has a broken foot
August 13, 2014 at 3:39 pm

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Marvin Jones has a broken foot. He had a pin put in his fifth metatarsal on his left foot. This injury will keep him out through the beginning of the season, likely into week two or three. With Jones gone, Mohammed Sanu is likely to get looks opposite AJ Green.  He is worth a late flyer late in drafts, possessing both talent and athleticism.

The Houston Texans cut Andre Brown
August 13, 2014 at 3:30 pm

The Houston Texans have released running back Andre Brown. The move makes room behind Arian Foster. Jonathan Grimes is the current leader to be second on the depth chart at running back. Rookie Alfred Blue and veteran Ronnie Brown are also in the mix. The back up in Houston will likely have value at some point this season, given Foster’s inability to stay healthy. We will update any changes to the depth chart.

David Wilson cleared for training camp
July 21, 2014 at 9:36 am

New York Giants running back David Wilson was cleared for training camp today. While owners will want to monitor the Giants training camp situation, Wilson looks to provide value as a late round pick this season. Wilson’s return may hurt the value of Rashad Jennings slightly this season. There should be opportunity for both RBs this season. Jennings is still an every week starter and Wilson is a later round flyer with upside.

Rashad Jennings to be feature running back
July 1, 2014 at 10:00 am

The New York Giants will use Rashad Jennings early and often. GM Jerry Reese said Jennings can be a “bellcow type running back”. Jennings proved in Oakland last season he can play all three downs. He can be a pass catcher and block well enough to remain in on third downs. Coming off the board as running back 27 and 87 overall Jennings will provide tremendous value and should be viewed as a RB2.

Montee Ball “Making Strides”
May 30, 2014 at 12:07 am

Denver OC Adam Gase, who probably has the most boring job in the league, said that he has seen Ball make the most strides throughout the 2013 season, and looks forward to seeing more this offseason. Ball is set to be the featured back in Peyton Manning’s high octane offense. Knowshon Moreno was able to be a top 5 RB last year, and Ball is clearly more talented. The sky is the limit for the former Badger.

Sebastian Coates, Sunderland – DEF

The Black Cats made a pair of signings on deadline day for season-long loans. Coates joins from Liverpool and Ricardo Alvarez from Inter Milan. Coates struggled to get any pitch time in his three seasons at Liverpool, making only 24 appearances including just six starts. The defender suffered a major knee injury last summer, but should be set for plenty of pitch time at Sunderland.  Alvarez was part of the 2014 Argentina squad that lost 0-1 to Germany in the final and picked up 14 goals in 90 appearances for Inter.
