Mike Williams traded to the Bills
April 4, 2014 at 8:34 am

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have traded Mike Williams to the Buffalo Bills in exchange for a 6th round draft pick this year. While 2013 was a major disappointment for Williams, he has shown flashes of being a productive receiver in both 2010 and 2012 when he tallied 900+ yards with 9 and 11 touchdowns respectively. He should compete for starting time with Robert Woods and Steve Johnson. Assuming Manuel can stay healthy, Williams could bounce back in 2014.

Ravens Sign Owen Daniels to one-year deal
April 3, 2014 at 4:27 pm

The Baltimore Ravens have signed former Houston Texans tight end Owen Daniels to a one year contract.  Gary Kubiak is now the offensive coordinator so the two will reunite.  Daniels, now 32 years old is not the elite offensive tight end he once was.  When healthy Daniels is as consistent as any tight end.  Dennis Pitta is in charge of the TE1 duties in Baltimore, making Daniels no more then a bye week replacement.

Kenny Britt joins the St Louis Rams
April 2, 2014 at 9:05 pm

In a move that reunites former coach and player, Kenny Britt has signed a 1 year/1.4M with Rams and coach Jeff Fisher. The Rams took a gamble on Britt even with issues both on and off the field. The question has never been about talent with Britt. Assuming he can stay healthy and avoid problems he could provide some serious value as a late round flyer. Britt is a prefect guy to stash and hope he hits.

DeSean Jackson is headed to Washington
April 1, 2014 at 10:23 pm

DeSean Jackson will now get two opportunities a year to burn his former team, the Eagles after signing a 3 year deal with the division rival Redskins. Jackson will provide relatively the same fantasy value in as the deep threat in Jay Gruden’s offense. The addition of Jackson will help RG3 significantly who has top 5 potential even if his running is limited. He should also open the field for Pierre Garçon and give Alfred Morris more running room.

Raiders sign Maurice Jones Drew to 3-year deal
March 28, 2014 at 10:15 am

The Raiders have signed MJD to a 3-year deal.  So they have signed DMC, and Now MJD.  It all sounds like a washed up rap group going on in the Bay Area.  From a fantasy football standpoint, this is awful news for the young, and talented, Latavius Murray. MJD just turned 29, so the Raiders aren’t getting younger by any means.  I see minimal fantasy relevance going on here.

Eagles cut Desean Jackson
March 28, 2014 at 9:53 am

Despite finding interest with other teams, the Philadelphia Eagles have cut DeSean Jackson. This move was tied to both a massive contract, as well as off the field concerns. Jackson’s departure will certainly hurt Nick Foles value but leaves room for Riley Cooper to become the feature receiver in the offense. The 49ers and Patriots are among the teams that have expressed interest in Jackson. He could retain his fantasy value if he lands in right situation.

Ray Rice indicted on aggravated assault charges
March 27, 2014 at 3:24 pm

Ray Rice is in hot water, real hot water.  He has been indicted by a grand jury on an aggravated assault charge against his fiancee.  The Ravens owner is standing by him, but fantasy owners should not.  Rice will likely face a league suspension regardless of what happens in court.  If convicted Rice could do 3-5 in prison.  Rice has been widely recognized for his stance on anti-bullying in the Baltimore area.

Dolphins sign Knowshon Moreno to one-year deal
March 27, 2014 at 12:36 pm

The Miami Dolphins have signed Knowshon Moreno to a one-year deal.  He will join Lamar Miller, and Daniel Thomas in what appears to be another crowded NFL backfield.  Time will tell who will be the featured back heading into week 1.  Moreno is no more than an RB3 at this point.

Mike Vick signs one-year $5 million dollar deal with Jets
March 21, 2014 at 4:03 pm

The Jets have signed Mike Vick to a one-year $5 million dollar deal.  This is a move to push Geno Smith to become better.  Vick is a top twenty fantasy quarterback.  We could be talking about a Vick-Decker combination down the stretch.

Raiders scoop up Matt Schaub
March 21, 2014 at 3:55 pm

Matt Schaub has been traded to the Oakland Raiders for a late round pick.  They will obtain his $11 million dollar contract, so it appears they have found a new starter in the Black hole.  Sammy Watkins looks intriguing at this point pick 5 to Oakland.  Schaub is no more than a QB2 at this point.

Montee Ball “Making Strides”

Denver OC Adam Gase, who probably has the most boring job in the league, said that he has seen Ball make the most strides throughout the 2013 season, and looks forward to seeing more this offseason. Ball is set to be the featured back in Peyton Manning’s high octane offense. Knowshon Moreno was able to be a top 5 RB last year, and Ball is clearly more talented. The sky is the limit for the former Badger.

Vernon Davis Missing from OTAs

The 30-year old TE is reportedly dissatisfied with his current contract, and is skipping these voluntary OTAs. Until Vernon skips the mandatory minicamps next month, this is nothing more than just a situation to keep an eye on.

Sproles Light Workload

The Philadelphia Inquirer suggested today that newly acquired Darren Sproles will get around 6-to-8 touches a game this season, slightly lower than his 9.54 touches from scrimmage over the last three years with the Saints. LeSean McCoy owners shouldn’t worry about Sproles taking away from his carries, but Nick Foles owners should be excited to have a matchup nightmare for opposing defenses.

Romelu Lukaku, Everton – FWD

Already missing star striker Christian Benteke, Belgium got a bit of a scare in their final World Cup tune-up against Tunisia. Lukaku came on as a substitute at the 61st minute in the 1-0 victory in Brussels, but was forced off the pitch shortly after with an ankle injury. Belgium manager Marc Wilmots downplayed the severity of the issue saying that Lukaku should only need a few days rest to recover.
