All I can say about the weekend just gone is WOW! Goals goals and goals made the weekend one of the most thrilling of the season. We saw a hat trick from Suárez, goal of the season contenders from Yaya Touré, Wayne Rooney and ….. Alexander Tettey! With Chelsea putting 6 past Arsenal, Liverpool putting six past Cardiff and Man City five past Fulham it’s safe to say it wasn’t a weekend for defence. So

Gameweek 31 is upon us, and with it presents some interesting lineup decisions due to some teams playing this weekend and then again mid week. Do you take a risk and spend your transfers on some guys who’ll play twice, or do you sit tight with the roster that’s got you to this point? To quote the legendary Michael Scott: “It is what you would call a classic difficult decision.” Okay, so maybe it’s not that

Heading into the 2013/2014 campaign, Leighton Baines was the prized defensive player to have for fantasy lineups, and for good reason. In his 7 year career with Everton he’s racked up 19 goals, 40 assists, kept 29 clean sheets, and played 263 complete games. All the while being promoted to the senior level English national team and is included on the short list of the best Left Backs in the world. He’s been the model of consistency, and

Week 30 has thrown the premier league back up in the air at both ends of the table and with 15 games falling in week 31 we could be in for a thrilling game week both in terms of the league and your fantasy teams. Some leagues are treating all 15 games as one game week so initially I will cover all the games in this article but for those who play on websites which

The return of a full slate of action in Gameweek 30 is a welcomed sight to that of fantasy players, as the list of usual suspects chosen for starting 11′s is at our disposal. And while the other games are sure to provide us with a few surprises, it’s the Sunday games that will no doubt draw most of the early headlines. Sunday opens with Manchester United seeking revenge for their early season loss at Anfield as

I got a fever, and the only prescription is more Ox Bell! Last week I wrote about how Mesut Özil might be in line to turn things around, and not only help the Gunners cling to their fading title hopes, but also justify fantasy owners’ restoring him to their lineups. And, after a stellar FA Cup showing against Everton, it looked like I might be right (and for the record, still could be). But then,

With another week of the English Premier League in the books, it was a week most fantasy managers are happy to see pass. A week that only saw half the league’s clubs participate in league fixtures due to Cup participation. A majority of fantasy managers were likely between a rock and a hard place. Do you burn your wild card? Do you burn multiple of your limited transfers? Or, just decide to suffer through the

That’s right, fans of the Prem, Week 29 is here and that means we’re just that much closer to the end of the campaign. It’s nip and tuck at the top and bottom of the table, so that means added pressure to nearly every match. It’s a short slate of games due to the FA Cup (or Crap depending on your point of view), and that means it’s even more important to not sleep on

We have a quiet week in the premier league with only five games being played due to it being the next round of the FA cup. That makes it even more important that you are on top of your injuries as you are likely to be missing a number of players already so why compound this by playing injured players? Friday 07.03.14 @ 4pm ET Teams updated: West Brom, Manchester United, Cardiff City, Fulham, Crystal

Another weekend goes by in the English Premier League, and it was one full of intrigue and incident. Arsenal fluffed their lines at Stoke, Alan Pardew threw his weight around in Newcastle’s technical area, and an unlikely hat trick hero helped maintain Chelsea’s grip on the top spot. What does this mean for Fantasy managers though? In the first of a regular column here on the Fake EPL, we’re going to look behind the score

One of the hottest names on the lips of Premier League pundits over the past month or so has without a doubt been Eden Hazard. The Chelsea winger has been in top form of late, and has been a chief reason as to why the Blue’s have surged to the top of the league table. But while his current form has undoubtedly contributed to him being the talk of the town, it’s the comments from his manager José

Don’t look now friends, but there are only 11 games (for most teams) left in the Premier League this season. We’ve seen not only one of the most enthralling title races in recent memory this season, but arguably an even more exciting battle to see who can stay out of the dreaded bottom three places and avoid relegation. We have seen players emerge from nowhere to look like world beaters, we have seen players take

It’s waking up at 5:30 in the morning on a Saturday to catch the first match of the weekend. It’s calling in sick so you can catch a mid week fixture live instead of DVR’ing it. It’s staying off social media so as to not see the outcome of a match (not easy to do). It’s red vs. blue. It’s David vs. Goliath. It’s the bright colors of player’s boots. It’s a 60 yard lofted

| Josh Gordon will be suspended for the entire season |
The year long suspension for Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon has been upheld per multiple media reports. The potential for a reduced suspension seemed somewhat realistic with a delay in decision on his appeal. The Browns offense will take a huge hit without him. Owners in dynasty leagues may want to make a move for Gordon who has number one wide receiver upside. The price will never be lower than after with this news.

| Brian Hoyer named starter over Johnny Manziel |
The Cleveland Browns have named Brain Hoyer their starting quarterback for week one. This may or may not be a shock to everyone. Johnny Manziel will likely start at some point this season. When that it happens depends on how well Hoyer and the Browns do to begin the season. Hoyer helped Josh Gordon and Jordan Cameron be fantasy stars last season. Manziel taking over shouldn’t hurt the pass catchers in this offense.

| Tampa Bay Buccaneers Charles Sims will undergo Surgery |
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers Charles Sims will undergo surgery on the ankle he injured in practice. Sims is expected to be out for 12-14 weeks. This should be good news for Doug Martin owners, as Sims seemed the likely contender to carries in Tampa Bay. Bobby Rainey, Mike James and Jeff Demps are all vying for carries as well. Sims could be a worth add from the waiver wire depending on how the early part of the season goes.

| Marcell Ozuna |
Ozuna went 2-4 with two RBI, and a home run. His second game in a row with a HR. Ozuna had been struggling, but it may be possible the struggles are over. He is still producing some good HR numbers, if he can cut down on the strikeouts things could turn around for him.
| Chris Sale |
Sale came off the DL in a big way Thursday night, throwing six shutout innings with ten strikeouts. Sale had a no- hitter going into the sixth, but with two outs Zolio Almonte singled to center to break it up. According to Sale and manager Robin Ventura, they had discussed before the game that even if Sale had been throwing perfect game he was not pitching more than six innings.

| Dallas Keuchel |
Keuchel dominated again Monday night against the Angels. Throwing almost his second complete game in consecutive outings. Keuchel threw 8.2 innings, allowing 5 hits, 2 earned runs, and he stroke out 8. Keuchel has been very tough, not allowing no more than 4 runs in his nin starts. He will look to continue his dominance on Saturday against Seattle.

| Sebastian Coates, Sunderland – DEF |
The Black Cats made a pair of signings on deadline day for season-long loans. Coates joins from Liverpool and Ricardo Alvarez from Inter Milan. Coates struggled to get any pitch time in his three seasons at Liverpool, making only 24 appearances including just six starts. The defender suffered a major knee injury last summer, but should be set for plenty of pitch time at Sunderland. Alvarez was part of the 2014 Argentina squad that lost 0-1 to Germany in the final and picked up 14 goals in 90 appearances for Inter. Source: bbc.com

| Hatem Ben Arfa, Hull City – MID |
Ben Arfa will join Hull City on a season long loan deal with Newcastle United that required a deadline extension of two hours to get the deal done. Club manager Steve Bruce was quite busy on the day, signing four players including Uruguay International Abel Hernandez, Gaston Ramirez from Southampton and Mohammed Diame from West Ham United. Ben Arfa and Ramirez are season-long loan deals while Hernandez and Diame both inked themselves three year deals with their new club. Source: foxsports.com

| George Boyd, Burnley – MID |
The newly promoted club made a trio of moves on deadline day including Boyd coming over from Hull City on a three year deal. Boyd had preformed well at Hull, but failed to earn any consistent playing time. Now he will bolster the Clarets midfield position. Michael Keane joins the defensive line after making only five appearances for Manchester United, most recently playing in the 1-1 draw between the two clubs last week. Nathaniel Chalobah joins Burnley from Chelsea on a loan deal and despite not having any Premiership time, the midfielder has impressed while on loan at multiple clubs. Source: …
