Blake Bortles – 39% owned on Yahoo!
I love me some Blake Bortles this week. He faces a Kansas City Chiefs team that has major issues stoping the pass. No Leonard Fournette this weeks should give Bortles more of an opportunity to throw and take deep shots.
A week ago Bortles threw for a career high 388 yards against the Jets. It was the second time this season he eclipsed 375 yards via the air.
With Yeldon getting the majority of the work, Bortles has yet another pass catcher that can help him be productive. Add in Dede Westbrook, Donte Moncrief and others and the opportunity is there.
I have him inside my top 10 at the position this week. Maybe I’m crazy to trust him this much but here we are!
Derek Carr – 42% Owned on Yahoo!
Do I think Derek Carr is a very good QB? No, not really. But thus far this season Carr has been great for fantasy. He has eclipsed 300 yards in every game but one this season and that one was 288 yards.
This week he faces a Charger defense that is a shell of itself with a rash of injuries including Joey Bosa and Jason Verrett.
I expect Philip Rivers to be productive against a Raiders defense that has issues defending the pass and getting to the QB. If the Raiders want to have a chance to remain competitive in this game, Carr must throw the ball a lot.
Marcus Mariota – 38% Owned on Yahoo!
Marcus Mariota has continued to look better this seaosn and was incredible in the game against the Eagles this past week. Mariota threw for 344 yards and 2 TDs. He is getting healthy and seems to understand this offense more and more. Corey Davis is breaking out and becoming Mariota’s favorite option.
This week the Titans are on the road to face an very bad Bills team. Buffalo has allowed 250 plus passing yards in every game and 3 TDs in 2 of 4 games. I expect Mariota to feast with his arm, utilize his legs and have a very solid fantasy performance at a minimum.
