FanDuel Week 4 Targets
- Updated: September 29, 2018

It is the first week of many on FanDuel that we have to worry about teams out on a bye. This is where we get some players who we may not usually consider for tournament plays. We only have two teams off this week so it shouldn’t be too challenging.
Getting straight into what I missed on last week Andy Dalton was my worst quarterback call as he finished as the 15th best at the position. My worst calls at running back were easily Chris Thompson and Kenyan Drake finishing as the 62nd and 65th at their positions. At wide receiver we saw A.J. Green leave with an injury and Julio Jones watch the Calvin Ridley breakout game from what felt like the sideline.
Quarterbacks
Drew Brees – $ $8,700
If I am paying up at the QB position Brees is an obvious top choice considering he is the highest price on FanDuel. He has the weapons and the Saints defense continues to force Brees into shoot out type games. He has been consistently good thus far.
Deshaun Watson – $7,600
Watson has worked his way back into our DFS hearts this season. I feel the Colts have gotten more credit for being a good defense than they deserve. I recall Andy Dalton putting up huge numbers in week one. Limiting Carson Wentz who doesn’t possess a ton of options to pass to does not earn the acclaim of a good defense for me.
Andy Dalton – $7,400
The Falcon’s defense continues to be the gift that keeps giving this week. With A.J. Green expected back look for another good game from Dalton here.
Baker Mayfield – $6,900
If I am going cheap this week, this is where I will land. I fully expect Baker to take his shots down the field, the upside is there and the Raiders defense is not scary.
Running Back
Melvin Gordon III – $8,700
He is one of the most consistent of the top tier backs and I believe Alvin Kamara will be in every lineup except mine. This week give me Gordon.
Saquon Barkley – $8,000
He will keep being the workhorse for the Giants this week. He is the safety net for Eli when he gets in trouble and I can definitely see that being the scenario this week.
Lamar Miller – $6,500
Lamar Miller isn’t a sexy pick here. I think Watson has no problem passing the ball and sustaining drives. The more touches Miller can earn the higher the floor for him making him a safer mid level option.
LeSean McCoy – $6,500
He is coming in to this game banged up which is usually an automatic avoid for me. However, he has played through this injury before and last week Adrian Peterson exploited the Packers run defense. He should also be involved in the passing game if they fall behind earlier.
Giovani Bernard – $6,400
He is getting all he can handle with Joe Mixon out. He will be used by a ton of people this week as the Falcons have giving up 15 and 14 receptions to Kamara and McCaffrey. While Gio isn’t as good as those two he should have similar role this week.
James White – $6,100
For the second week in a row we will see a mad Tom Brady. Last week was disappointing for the Patriots pass attack and I expect James White to be used heavily to open up the down field passes.
Wide Receiver
DeAndre Hopkins – $8,600
Did I mention I think Deshaun Watson will be able to pass with ease yet? Will Fuller is a great option and after his start he should help free up Hopkins. Give me plenty of Nuk this week, as he should have a big day.
Davante Adams – $8,000
Aaron Rodgers top target should be in line for a big day again against a Buffalo defense who has been bad. I know the Bills absolutely shocked the Vikings last week, but that will not be repeated at Lambeau.
Jarvis Landry – $7,000
Juice is still the top target in this offense and Baker will rely on him early and often. I think he and Antonio Callaway will have good days.
Golden Tate – $6,800
He has had at least six catches in each game so far and been great despite Kenny Golladay getting all the fan fare. If he stays consistent his floor is great with high upside against the Cowboys defense.
Amari Cooper – $6,600
I am obviously on board with the fact the Browns will score. Cooper is sort of an enigma. He has showed flashes of being great and flashes of being below average. Look for good Amari this week.
Mike Williams – $6,300
Late news of Keenan Allen being questionable certainly helps his case to be a target. He has emerged though on his own as a reliable weapon for Phillip Rivers.
Sterling Shepard – $6,200
The number two wide out versus the Saints has been great all year. There should be plenty of points and pass attempts by the Giants. You could do worse at this price.
Tyler Boyd – $5,800
Yes, he is a thing now. Yes, I like his matchup. Yes, I like his price point. Should you roster him? Follow the pattern.
Antonio Callaway – $4,500
He is dirt cheap and he had 11 targets last week. I love his talent and if the targets show up he will be a steal.
Tight Ends
Rob Gronkowski – $8,100
We have now seen a Patriots team lose back to back and Gronk has been bottled up for the most part. I am more than willing to pay up for him in this spot because the huge game potential is there.
Jimmy Graham – $6,000
He has been been progressing in the offense gaining seven targets last week. He is steal an elite option in the red zone and could be a great play this week.
Trey Burton – $5,600
I want to keep firing up players against the Bucs. Vance McDonald torched them last week and Zack Ertz went off the week before. Trey is certainly getting the looks to have a big day.
Tyler Eifert – $4,600
We saw Benjamin Watson have his best game so far last week against the Falcons. As long as Eifert is healthy Dalton will look for him.
Defense
Eagles – $4,600
They should face a less than one hundred percent Mariota this week and that could be enough to get some turnovers.
Bears – $4,300
I am suggesting the Bears to stop the “Fitzmagic” train of consecutive 400 yard passing attacks. This will be a hard to click submit into the lineup, but could be rewarding.
Cardinals – $4,000
Showing signs of life, the Cardinals looked okay defensively last week and should be able to get to Russel Wilson in this game.
