NFL 6 Pack – Week 4 NFL Picks Against the Spread

Vikings Kirk Cousins

Oh baby! Your boy is back after a 3-0 week. The Steelers rebounded against the Buccaneers this week to get a W on the road. The Saints did the same thing on the road against the Falcons. The Cowboys anemic offense assured the under for me.

Aaron came back down to earth last week, mostly due to the Raiders blowing their cover. The Giants looked like a real team again, which shouldn’t surprise him after years of watching them but he still fall for that trap. The Raiders kept it close with the Dolphins until the dynamic duo of Wilson and Grant happened. At least the Colts/Eagles game played out exactly how he thought it would.

Week 3 results:

Aaron: 1-2-0
Kyle: 3-0-0

On the season:

Aaron : 5-3-1
Kyle : 4-4-1

After an undefeated Week 3, I am on the tee. Lets keep this train rolling down the tracks.

Kyle’s Picks:

Minnesota Vikings +7 at Los Angeles Rams

You like that! Extreme Kirk Cousins’ voice.

Through three games this season the Los Angeles Rams have been a cover machine, doing so with ease. The Vikings on the other hand have failed to cover in their last two contests. They are also coming off of a game where they were dismantled at home by the Buffalo Bills who had a player retire at halftime because they were playing so bad.

That said, I am all over the Vikings in this spot. The Rams lost both Aqib Talib and Marcus Peters in their game against the Chargers. This is a huge loss for his stellar defense. I’m very curious to see how this defense plays without its lockdown corners. Philip Rivers and company were able to have a ton of success after the two corners were out of the game.

The Vikings offense should be able to take advantage of the issues in the Rams secondary. It is also sounding like Minnesota may have Dalvin Cook back this week which is an extra weapon.

I think Minnesota keeps this close and has a real chance to win this game outright.

Pick: Vikings +7

Denver Broncos +5.5 vs Kansas City Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs looked like an unstoppable force offensively. QB Patrick Mahomes is playing like an MVP candidate with nearly 900 yards and 13 TDs through three games.

The Denver Broncos return home from a disappointing effort against the Baltimore Ravens. I expect to see a much better performance from the Broncos as a whole. Their defense is really talented and should give Mahomes and company a great test this week. Case Keenum needs to play better if they Broncos want to have a real shot in this game and I expect to see more of what made him so special in 2018.

I LOVE taking home dogs in prime-time games. As soon as I saw the line for this game, I knew I would be all over the Broncos.

I think they not only cover but give the Chiefs their first loss of the season.

Pick: Broncos +5.5

New England Patriots -6.5 vs Miami Dolphins

Betting in the NFL is often about trust. Who do you trust to do their job? Will this team get blown out? Can you trust a team to regain their old form?

Last week it was the Pittsburgh Steelers for me who went to Tampa Bay and found their old form while the 2-0 Buccaneers regressed a bit to what their expectations were.

This is the same spot for me this week. The Patriots return home after being embarrassed in prime time by the Detroit Lions. This was their second straight loss.

Now they welcome the 3-0 Miami Dolphins who beat the Titans, Jets and Raiders who are a combined 3-6 this season. The return of QB Ryan Tannehill has given Miami a nice boost but I expect reality to smack them in the face this week.

Tom Brady, Bill Belichick and company have been the class of the NFL for close to two decades. We have seen this story before where Brady is too old and Belichick is too stubborn. Before you know it, as Dennis Green said, “They are who we thought they were!”

The the Patriots at home to cover with ease!

Pick: Patriots -6.5

Detroit Lions +3 @ Dallas Cowboys

I can’t seem to stay away from betting the Lions this year. Outside of their blowout loss to the Jets, they
have looks like the typical Lions of the last 5 years. They are going to win some big games and lose some
bad ones. They are coming off a 16-point shellacking of the Patriots last week, which could be cause for
concern traveling to Dallas to play in Jerryworld. The only thing the Cowboys have going for them at the
moment is their defense. They gave up 16, 13, and 24 points this year. Sean Lee is out for a couple
weeks – ever heard of him? Well he’s one of the best linebackers in the league (when healthy) but he’s
hurt a lot. The Lions found their running game last week and without Lee stuffing the run, they are going
to find it again and beat-up on the Boys.

Pick: Lions +3

Philadelphia Eagles -4 @ Tennessee Titans

A battle of two 1st place teams… The Titans are 2-1 with the 30th ranked offense in the league. They are
coming off an extremely hard-fought win in Jacksonville last week in which they won 9-6. Gabbert
suffered a concussion and Mariota was extremely limited with his numb hand/arm. Wentz had his game
to shake off the rust. He was consistently under pressure from an improved Colts pass rush and still
managed to pull out the win. Philly has kept games close this season, but I think this is the perfect storm
for a Philly blowout.

Pick: Eagles -4

Jacksonville Jaguars -7.5 vs. New York Jets

The best defense in the league vs. any rookie QB does not equal success. The Jags are coming off a tough
loss at home last week and are going to want to take that anger out on the Jets. I’m banking on the
return of Leonard Fournette here as I think he will have a field day coming back from nursing his
hammy. The Jags don’t blow teams out often, but I think they keep this one to double-digits and run
away with it.

Pick: Jaguars -7.5

Good luck in Week 4!
