Don’t look now friends, but there are only 11 games (for most teams) left in the Premier League this season. We’ve seen not only one of the most enthralling title races in recent memory this season, but arguably an even more exciting battle to see who can stay out of the dreaded bottom three places and avoid relegation. We have seen players emerge from nowhere to look like world beaters, we have seen players take

What We Learned from UFC 170 Ronda Rousey is as good as advertised- A large contingent of MMA fans out there weren’t really drinking the Ronda Rousey Kool Aid yet. “All she has is an arm bar,” they’d say. “She’s a one trick pony, and it’s only a matter of time before she’s exposed.” Well, Ronda showed us in the main event of UFC 170 she’s got some other tools as well. She’s still getting better at other

Ahh. The sun shining, the clean cut grass, the Big League chew, sunflower seeds and chewing tobacco… Oh baseball, how we’ve missed you. 2014 is among us and some big headlines have entered the fold. For one, Derek Jeter, “The Captain”, retiring and rookie sensation Masahiro Tanaka. Who will be the surprise accolade winners? Let’s start with the American League. American League MVP Evan Longoria, 3B, Tampa Bay Rays - In 2012, he had an injury

Fantasy Baseball: How to Survive an Auction In fantasy sports, players can be categorized into three generic manager profiles: The guy who prepares for the draft then coasts through the regular season The guy who wings the draft then scours the free agents like a lion looking for lunch (this guy also tends to send ridiculous trade offers that a 4 year old would decline) The guy who does both In an ideal world we

This is the first in a new Fantasy Baseball series called “Mocking The Offseason” where I will be doing a realistic mock draft based on having pick 7 of 12. I am not strictly using ADP to determine what players are available, as much as drafting a team as I would in reality. I will break down each of the players I would hope to select in each round with the 7th pick. So come

Ten games on the NBA slate tonight. Only two of the ten games have double digit spreads, and three of the ten games have totals over 210 points. Expect another night of close, competitive and high scoring games. In the world of fantasy basketball, nothing can be better than seeing close point spreads and high totals. So when I see only two spreads over ten points and high totals overall, I know my key players

I’m going to be honest here about tonight: looking at all seven games, there isn’t one game that intimidates me. When studying the matchups and all the stats, no particular player stuck out to me as someone to pass on. I love giving some starts and sits, but I’m not going to grasp at straws just to recommend sitting someone. So with that being said, I am not going to give players to sit tonight.

There was some speculation that the Rockies “checked in” on Santana, on Monday. This speculation was due to the Rockies shutting down Chacin. However according to Thomas Harding of MLB.com “The hope is Chacin’s right shoulder-biceps issue is not serious enough for the Rockies to need to make a signing. The official said the club reached out to Santana early in the free-agency process, but it backed away and does not have renewed interest for

It’s a five game Monday evening of NBA action this 24th of February. Every game has point spreads and only the Boston/Utah clash sees an over/under below 206. The highest total, not shockingly enough, comes from Philadelphia where the big battle between the Bucks and 76ers takes place. Normally, it’s fun to load up on players going against the turnstiles known as Philly D. But tonight, alas, it’s Milwaukee’s turn, a team coached by a

Spring Training has begun and the optimism among baseball fans is high for both their real and fantasy seasons. While there is nothing you can do to make a difference to your real teams you can control the fate of your fantasy teams by picking the right players at the right time in the draft and not reaching for players when you can take a similar but more underrated talent three rounds later. That is

It happens every year, and happens multiple times. Be it through over-analyzing, under-evaluating, or just plain error, a player falls in the draft and then lights up the NFL. Tom Brady, Russell Wilson, Colin Kaepernick, Randy Moss, the list goes on and one. For various reasons, there are always guys who teams pass on that should go much higher. This year will have its share of draft day steals as well. Some may be guys

The 2014 season is in the books. Visions of the Seahawks stomping a mud hole in the Denver Broncos are etched on our brains forever, and depending on what side of the tracks you fall on in that matchup, that could be a good or bad thing. And being the degenerates we are, the end of one year only signals the beginning of the next and the work we need to do to prepare. With

On Saturday night, “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey attempts her third consecutive 135-pound title defense when she squares off with the quiet, but unquestionably dangerous, Sara McMann in the UFC 170 main event. If you are listening to the media, fighters, and the fan message boards, however, the clamor isn’t revolving around these elite ladies and their prizefight. Instead, everyone seems to be focusing on when Rousey will fight former Strikeforce 145-pound champion, Cris “Cyborg” Justino. It’s as if Justino is

It’s waking up at 5:30 in the morning on a Saturday to catch the first match of the weekend. It’s calling in sick so you can catch a mid week fixture live instead of DVR’ing it. It’s staying off social media so as to not see the outcome of a match (not easy to do). It’s red vs. blue. It’s David vs. Goliath. It’s the bright colors of player’s boots. It’s a 60 yard lofted

Adam and Mary are two high schoolers out on a date. Adam took Mary out to get Fro-yo and listen to the sweet sounds of One Direction when driving her home. He pulls in her driveway and that’s when he decides to make his move. Things start heating up, but Mary pushes him away “No Adam, let’s wait until prom. Since news broke this past Friday that top ranked lightweight contender Gilbert Melendez has agreed to a deal to join Bellator MMA, the mixed martial arts community hasn’t stopped buzzing. Gilbert failed to come to an agreement with the UFC brass, and Bjorn Rebney (Bellator Chairman) swooped in and capitalized, potentially bringing in a world ranked talent to his already interesting lightweight division. While the UFC still has the right to match the deal and keep “El

One of the lesser discussed reasons that certain top players are worth passing on is because there’s someone almost identical to them much later. Why take a guy who’s going to hit .285/35/100 in the first round when you can take a guy who can hit .260/35/100 in the fifth (will cover this in my first example)? It doesn’t make sense. When drafting early, you want guys you can rely on that have unique skill

It’s your usual light NBA Thursday night schedule, as there are three games on tap this evening.. All three have point spreads of lower than 5, with totals no lower than 204.5, so you can expect some close, high scoring games. The marquee matchup comes from OKC as the Heat and Thunder will do battle in the return of Russell Westbrook. The big question posing DFS’ers tonight is LBJ or KD ?? They are priced

Pre-Combine Rookie TE & QB Rankings: Dynasty Perspective The NFL is evolving away from the traditional tight end and utilizing more move and athletic tight ends, that is good news for this rookie class and dynasty owners. As seen on www.fantasybasketballmoneyleagues.com: These are the outdated rankings we discussed on the latest edition of the FakeRoundball Roundtable podcast. I posted this just in case anyone wanted to follow along as they listen. These rankings are all based on rotisserie scoring format. They are not based on points leagues, head-to-head scoring or dynasty formats. Writing a list for those formats would drastically changed its complexion. Without further ado, here is how I rank players for the

| Josh Gordon will be suspended for the entire season |
|
The year long suspension for Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon has been upheld per multiple media reports. The potential for a reduced suspension seemed somewhat realistic with a delay in decision on his appeal. The Browns offense will take a huge hit without him. Owners in dynasty leagues may want to make a move for Gordon who has number one wide receiver upside. The price will never be lower than after with this news.

| Brian Hoyer named starter over Johnny Manziel |
|
The Cleveland Browns have named Brain Hoyer their starting quarterback for week one. This may or may not be a shock to everyone. Johnny Manziel will likely start at some point this season. When that it happens depends on how well Hoyer and the Browns do to begin the season. Hoyer helped Josh Gordon and Jordan Cameron be fantasy stars last season. Manziel taking over shouldn’t hurt the pass catchers in this offense.

|
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers Charles Sims will undergo surgery on the ankle he injured in practice. Sims is expected to be out for 12-14 weeks. This should be good news for Doug Martin owners, as Sims seemed the likely contender to carries in Tampa Bay. Bobby Rainey, Mike James and Jeff Demps are all vying for carries as well. Sims could be a worth add from the waiver wire depending on how the early part of the season goes.

Ozuna went 2-4 with two RBI, and a home run. His second game in a row with a HR. Ozuna had been struggling, but it may be possible the struggles are over. He is still producing some good HR numbers, if he can cut down on the strikeouts things could turn around for him.

|
| Chris Sale |
|
Sale came off the DL in a big way Thursday night, throwing six shutout innings with ten strikeouts. Sale had a no- hitter going into the sixth, but with two outs Zolio Almonte singled to center to break it up. According to Sale and manager Robin Ventura, they had discussed before the game that even if Sale had been throwing perfect game he was not pitching more than six innings.

| Dallas Keuchel |
|
Keuchel dominated again Monday night against the Angels. Throwing almost his second complete game in consecutive outings. Keuchel threw 8.2 innings, allowing 5 hits, 2 earned runs, and he stroke out 8. Keuchel has been very tough, not allowing no more than 4 runs in his nin starts. He will look to continue his dominance on Saturday against Seattle.

| Sebastian Coates, Sunderland – DEF |
|
The Black Cats made a pair of signings on deadline day for season-long loans. Coates joins from Liverpool and Ricardo Alvarez from Inter Milan. Coates struggled to get any pitch time in his three seasons at Liverpool, making only 24 appearances including just six starts. The defender suffered a major knee injury last summer, but should be set for plenty of pitch time at Sunderland. Alvarez was part of the 2014 Argentina squad that lost 0-1 to Germany in the final and picked up 14 goals in 90 appearances for Inter. Source: bbc.com

| Hatem Ben Arfa, Hull City – MID |

Ben Arfa will join Hull City on a season long loan deal with Newcastle United that required a deadline extension of two hours to get the deal done. Club manager Steve Bruce was quite busy on the day, signing four players including Uruguay International Abel Hernandez, Gaston Ramirez from Southampton and Mohammed Diame from West Ham United. Ben Arfa and Ramirez are season-long loan deals while Hernandez and Diame both inked themselves three year deals with their new club. Source: foxsports.com

|
| George Boyd, Burnley – MID |
|
The newly promoted club made a trio of moves on deadline day including Boyd coming over from Hull City on a three year deal. Boyd had preformed well at Hull, but failed to earn any consistent playing time. Now he will bolster the Clarets midfield position. Michael Keane joins the defensive line after making only five appearances for Manchester United, most recently playing in the 1-1 draw between the two clubs last week. Nathaniel Chalobah joins Burnley from Chelsea on a loan deal and despite not having any Premiership time, the midfielder has impressed while on loan at multiple clubs. Source: …
