Daily Fantasy Basketball Notes 2/24

It’s a five game Monday evening of NBA action this 24th of February. Every game has point spreads and only the Boston/Utah clash sees an over/under below 206.

The highest total, not shockingly enough, comes from Philadelphia where the big battle between the Bucks and 76ers takes place.  Normally, it’s fun to load up on players going against the turnstiles known as Philly D.  But tonight, alas, it’s Milwaukee’s turn, a team coached by a mad scientist and who just brought some new players in through trade (Ramon Sessions and Jeff Adrien)  and have some players with injuries that we’re not sure about ( Nate Wolters, Caron Butler).  The only player I can use with any sense of confidence would be Brandon Knight, who sees his salary at a yearly high of $15,451 on draft street tonight.  He is coming off a 45.25 DS point performance Saturday in Indiana.  On draft kings, where is $6700, he looks like a must play, especially considering they don’t penalize for missed shots.  On the flip side, Philly turns loose some players they obtained during the trade deadline.  Nobody knows for sure how coach Brett Brown will play out his new rotation, especially the big guys.  Thaddeus Young had an enormous night Friday vs. Dallas and looks to stay as the main man there now with Evan Turner and Spencer Hawes gone.  As expected his price skyrocketed on draft street and is $16,913 tonight.

Besides Knight and Young,  here are some plays to look at:

Carmelo Anthony, NYK ($19,681)- Melo is on one his scoring binges lately, averaging over 35 PPG since the All Star Break.  Dallas is 29th out of 30 against small forwards the last 15 days ( I know, Melo technically plays a bunch at PF these days).  The Knicks need a good performance coming back home after a 1-3 road trip.

Anthony Davis, NO ($18,177)- If you’re looking for a high priced forward and don’t want Melo, then see what the Brow can do for you.  You don’t need me to tell you that Davis is a top DFS option.  He’s a nightly double double threat and accompany’s that with big block / steal possibilities.  You may need me to tell you that tonight’s opponent, the Clippers,  are 25th against PF the last 15 days.

Some cheaper plays:

Draymond Green, GS ($10,713)- With David Lee sitting out again tonight, Green will see a minutes uptick once again (though I doubt 38 like he saw against Brooklyn on Saturday).  He’s got a couple double doubles this month and adds plenty to your score in the steals / blocks departments.

Will Bynum, DET ($8,580)- By no means a safe play, but Bynum has now seen 24 MPG since the break.  He’s been good for over 12 points and 7 assists, and has over 20 DS points in three straight.

Zaza Pachuila, MIL ($7,046)- I realize earlier I said I wouldn’t use any Buck except Brandon Knight.  Well, I actually said with confidence, and this is not a confident pick but the Zaza rate has been crashing lately.  He still played 27 minutes in Milwaukee’s last game and posted a 10 and 9 line.  For 7,000 grand, you may try and upgrade elsewhere and punt here.

Overall, I don’t feel it’s a great night for DFS.  But as degenerates, we must play on !!!
