NFL 6 Pack – Week 2 NFL Picks ATS

Los Angeles Chargers Philip Rivers

For Aaron, last week’s picks turned out great for a week 1 slate. The Panthers handled the Cowboys with ease, although the close score showed a different story if you didn’t watch the game. The Broncos opened at -1.5 (the line I got them at) but by the time our article was released the line had moved to -3, so chalk that up as a push. And finally, the Ravens easily manhandled the Bills for what now feels like the lock of the century. There were definitely some surprises across the NFL in week 1 but luckily, I managed to stay away and get us some $$.

For me, it was a little more of a bumpy ride. As Aaron mentioned, we pushed with the Denver Broncos. The Chiefs rolled on the road and covered with ease. Thanks Patrick Mahomes and Tyreek Hill! The New York Giants should have covered but struggled at key moments and failed to cover.

Week 1 results:
Aaron: 2-0-1
Kyle: 1-1-1

Let’s make some Week 2 NFL picks against the spread!

Aaron’s Picks

Los Angeles Chargers -7 vs. Buffalo Bills

Last week my pick wasn’t just picking against the Bills. This week is. The Bills are bad… like, really bad. Their line couldn’t block a peewee squad and their defense looked completely lost last week.

The Chargers, on the other hand, played well against a Chiefs team in a divisional rivalry game. The Chiefs (well, Tyreek Hill) made some spectacular plays that made this game look much worse than the eye-test would tell you it was. The Chargers are a very good team on both sides of the ball and will be looking for revenge this week. It’s not a good week (or season) to be a Bills fan… but when is it ever? I think the Chargers blow the Bills out to improve to 1-1. Hit this line before it goes to -7.5 for superior-confidence when betting!

Pick: Chargers -7

Detroit Lions +6 @ San Francisco 49ers

Stafford may have played his worst game ever last week against the Jets. The Lions couldn’t get anything going on the ground and fell behind early. Typically, that is Stafford’s time to shine and rack up the yards. The Jets continuously forced turnovers and showed up to play on both sides of the ball. I’m chalking this up to the Jets coming to play and not the Lions being a terrible team all of a sudden. Patricia is a smart dude who will be able to go back to the drawing board and get this team back on track in week 2.

I think the Lions come out gunning and Stafford has a bounce-back game to remember. On the other hand, I believe the Niners are a team trying to find themselves. The public believes in Jimmy G (and all the off season hype around this team) and thinks this is a well-oiled machine, when it’s not. Jimmy was sloppy in week 1 and the Lions defense will be sure to put pressure on him consistently.

Pick: Lions +6

Arizona Cardinals +13 vs. Los Angeles Rams

Yes, I get it, Sam Bradford looked awful week 1. He looked like a rookie for 90% of the game, was consistently under pressure, and couldn’t connect with anyone outside of Fitz. David Johnson was bottled up all game due to this leading to the Cardinals offense looking flat out anemic. That’s something I love to see in week 1 because I know that everyone out there is thinking the same thing and going to bet against the Cards this week.

The Rams are a great team and showed it Monday night. This is a classic case of a team winning on Monday night and letting off the gas the following week. Do I think Arizona beats the Rams? Chances are slim to none. Do I think the Cards are much better than what they showed last week? Enough to take the double-digit line and hope Bradford shows he’s the guy of 2017 weeks 1-4 and not 2018 week 1 Bradford. With this pick, I recommend waiting until Sunday to get the bet in. This line should only move towards the Rams and I would love to have this at +14 just in case.

Pick: Cardinals + 13

Washington Alex Smith

Kyle’s Picks

Washington Redskins -6 vs Indianapolis Colts

The return of Andrew Luck a week ago reminded us a lot. Offensively, he can make that offense go. TY Hilton, Eric Ebron and Jack Doyle are going to eat. The defense however is still a mess. They have issues have on all three levels.

Washington on the other hand was very impressive in their Week one opener. While Adrian Peterson was a revelation, it was Alex Smith that made this offense go. A healthy Jordan Reed and Chris Thompson sure does help.

Despite going East Coast to West Coast and back for this game, I like Washington in this spot. The Colts can’t slow down this offense and while Andrew Luck should play well a turover or two is very much in the cards.

Pick: Washington -6

Arizona Cardinals +13 at LA Rams

A week ago, the Cardinals were a mess at home. They were boat raced by the aforementioned Redskins. As bad as they were, this offense still has weapons including David Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald and Ricky Seals-Jones. Seals-Jones should feast in this spot, much like Jared Cook did a week ago.

The Rams played the late Monday night game. They didn’t play great against an bad Raider offense but did cover. They saw how bad the Cardinals were a week ago and wont bring their A game in this contest.

I expect the Rams to win and win easy but the Cardinals will cover the 13 points.

Pick: Cardinals +13

Pittsburgh Steelers -4 vs Kansas City Chiefs

The Steelers were up 21-7 on the road in the slop before a series of random plays ended up seeing that game tied. The Chiefs on the other hand were monsters including 4 TDs from Patrick Mahomes and Tyreek Hill getting 3 TDs including a punt return TD.

I feel like this is a great bounce back spot for the Steelers. Ben Roethlisberger plays much better at home. The Chiefs secondary is questionable at best. Big Ben, AB and company will feast. James Conner is a good runner and should put up solid production yet again.

Take the Steelers at home in Heinz Field. They will win this game by a TD or more!

Pick: Steelers -4
