It’s a full slate of games and hopefully, there won’t be any weather concerns for MLB DFS Targets today.  Also included at the end of the article are FanDuel and DraftKings results from yesterday’s targets.

Jon Lester (CHC vs. SD)

Moneyline: -270

Over/Under: N/A

FanDuel: $11,000/DraftKings: $12,200

There’s not a lot of pitching to pay up for on this slate, so Lester could be highly owned if the game doesn’t get postponed.  Currently, the Cubs are the heaviest favorite and Lester should be able to keep the Padres bats quiet.

J.A. Happ (TOR @ SF)

Moneyline: -130

Over/Under: 8

FanDuel: $8,300/DraftKings: $7,200

For the reasons of why I liked Aaron Sanchez yesterday, I like Happ today.  The Giants bats are still quiet, and Happ is pitching in pitcher’s park against a team who normally has a lot of lefties in their lineup.  I can see Toronto coming out on top again tonight.

Other pitchers to consider: Adam Conley (MIA vs. MIL), and Joe Ross (WAS vs. DET).

Welington Castillo (ARI @ COL)

FanDuel: $4,100/DraftKings: $4,700

Castillo is putting together a nice season so far, and this Coors Field game against opposing pitcher, Chris Rusin, is the top play at this position.

Buster Posey (SF vs. TOR)

FanDuel: $3,300/DraftKings: $3,600

I know I recommended Happ as a pitching target, but if he can keep the scoring to a minimum, I think Posey is the guy to get the fantasy points on the Giants side.  With the platoon and batting third, Posey is a sound target at the position.

Other catchers to consider: Jarrod  Saltalamacchia (DET @ WAS), Stephen Vogt (OAK @ BOS), and Tony Wolters (COL vs. ARI).

First base

Paul Goldschmidt (ARI @ COL)

FanDuel: $4,500/DraftKings: $5,600

Goldschmidt came to life a little bit last night, and maybe a Coors field game is what he needed.  He has the platoon with the best park factor tonight, and is still the same price on FanDuel.  As expected, the run total is a high one at 11, and Goldschmidt should factor into the scoring.

Joey Votto (CIN vs. PIT)

FanDuel: $3,800/DraftKings: $4,500

Votto and the Reds are facing Juan Nicasio tonight in a game with a run total of nine.  Nicasio hasn’t pitched well on the road, giving the Reds a chance at early offensive opportunities.  Votto has the platoon at his home park where his hot hotting can continue.

Other first basemen to consider: Ryan Howard (PHI @ ATL), Hanley Ramirez (BOS vs. OAK), and Byung-ho Park (MIN vs. BAL).

Second base

Derek Dietrich (MIA vs. MIL)

FanDuel: $2,800/DraftKings: $3,300 (third base eligible)

I originally had Logan Forsythe penciled in here, but he looks unlikely to play, so I’m back on Dietrich.  He should be leading off again against right-hander Zach Davies who has not pitched well this season.

Dustin Pedroia (BOS vs. OAK)

FanDuel: $3,400/DraftKings: $4,400

A Red Sox stack might be a popular one tonight against A’s pitcher, Sean Manaea. They have one of the strongest offenses in baseball with Pedroia healthy and producing.  Include Pedroia in your lineups and stacks.

Other second basemen to consider: Cesar Hernandez (PHI @ ATL), and Chase Utley (LAD vs. NYM).

Third base

Adrian Beltre (TEX vs. CWS)

FanDuel: $3,300/DraftKings: $4,400

Beltre and the Rangers are facing Carlos Rodon today, who has been shaky this season.  Being the hitter that he is, Beltre can definitly help surge the offense.  For the season against lefties, Beltre has a .384 wOBA, .529 slugging percentage and .206 ISO.

Manny Machado (BAL @ MIN)

FanDuel: $4,300/DraftKings: $4,900 (shortstop eligible)

Machado is a solid play today if the game doesn’t get rained out, which probably makes him a better play on DraftKings for the ability to late swap.  The Orioles are facing Jose Berrios, who has a bit of a tough start to his career,

Other third basemen to consider: Evan Longoria (TB @ SEA), Nolan Arenado (COL vs. ARI), and Todd Frazier (CWS @ TEX).

Jean Segura (ARI @ COL)

FanDuel: $3,700/DraftKings: $5,000 (second base eligible only)

Segura is crazy expensive on DraftKings, but is he worth it at second base?  I’m not sure if he is, and his price on FanDuel is really hard to pass up for many of the same reasons of why I liked him yesterday.  Add the platoon to his advantage tonight against Rusin.

Corey Seager (LAD vs. NYM)

FanDuel: $3,800/DraftKings: $3,200

For his price, Seager is a better fit for DraftKings lineups.  Opposing pitcher, Jacob deGrom, hasn’t been as sharp lately and Seager can capitalize on that while batting near the top of the order.  His splits against both handedness are fairly even but I like Seager better in this case with the platoon.

Other shortstops to consider: Trevor Story (COL vs. ARI), and Ketel Marte (SEA vs. TB).

Andrew McCutchen (PIT @ CIN)

FanDuel: $4,100/DraftKings: $4,900

McCutchen has been steady for the last few games but this is a matchup that he could capitalize on against Alfredo Simon.  Simon has been pitching poorly this season and McCutchen has the positive ball park shift to the Great American.  At his price on both sites, he may go overlooked and be a low owned option.

Carlos Gonzalez (COL vs. ARI)

FanDuel: $3,900/DraftKings: $4,700

I’m going back to the well on Gonzalez, especially with his price on FanDuel.  It’s hard to steer away from his price on FanDuel because of the potential ceiling he could have.  If you want exposure to the Coors Field game, Gonzalez won’t cost you as much as other top targets for his upside.

Steve Pearce (TB @ SEA)

FanDuel: $2,700/DraftKings: $2,900 (first base eligible only)

Pearce is a part of the pack of right-handed Rays you can use against opposing left-handed pitchers.  He is only first base eligible on DraftKings which means you’re probably rostering him on FanDuel unless you want to be contrarian at the first base position.  For the season against southpaws, Pearce has a .467 wOBA, .667 slugging percentage, and .296 ISO, which makes for a pretty good target at the position.

Other outfielders to consider: Josh Reddick (OAK @ BOS), Gregory Polanco (PIT @ CIN), Jay Bruce (CIN vs. PIT), Brandon Guyer (TB @ SEA), Michael Saunders (TOR @ SF).
