NFL Eliminator Challenge: Week 9
-
Updated: November 4, 2015

Welcome to the ninth week of our NFL Eliminator Challenge series. Last week we got back on track as the Chiefs dismantled the Lions in front of a British crowd. Likewise, our secondary pick, the New Orleans Saints, won a shootout at home where both quarterbacks put up Madden like stats. We were 2-0 last week, and it’s time to do it again for week eleven.
Step 1 – Avoid Division Matchups
Fantasy just got a whole lot better thanks to Monkey Knife Fight. With fast-paced games like Rapid Fire and Either/Or, it’s never been easier to play fantasy and win. New to MKF? Get Exclusive $100 Deposit Match + Free $5 Game >
If you still want proof why to not pick these games, Sundays matchup in Atlanta between the Bucs and Falcons should be more than enough proof. A rookie quarterback going against a team that just a couple weeks ago was one of the hottest teams in the NFL is usually a recipe for disaster. Except when it’s a division matchup. Follow my number one rule: avoid the below division games:
- Cleveland at Cincinnati
- Philadelphia at Dallas
- Miami at Buffalo
Step 2 – Avoid Marquee Matchups
We may not have had a great Thursday or Sunday night matchup, but Monday’s was a great one. These games have certainly been hit or miss this season, but until we see more hits than misses, I’m going to continue to avoid them. Unless you want to take a chance I would still avoid the below marquee games:
- Cleveland at Cincinnati
- Philadelphia at Dallas
- Chicago at San Diego
Step 3 – Avoid Picking Against Home Field Advantage
Once again, the home team won nine of fourteen games. Catching a trend yet? Oakland over the Jets should be proof enough of home field advantage, especially when teams travel across the country. Be aware and avoid the below games where the favorite is the away team:
- Atlanta at San Francisco
- NY Giants at Tampa Bay
- Denver at Indianapolis
- Green Bay at Carolina
Step 4 – Make your pick!
My pick of the week is:
New Orleans over Tennessee
New Orleans has been on fire the past couple weeks while Tennessee just fired their head coach. This game should be a blow out and I expect incredible numbers from the Saints offense once again.
Another option I like this week:
New England over Washington
Here is another slam-dunk pick. Who really sees the Redskins coming to New England and giving the Patriots their first loss of the season? Not me.
