DST and K.

The DST and K are mid level and are a pass for me in 2020. Both positions have high uncertainty.

QB and RB

DEN is building their team around their 2nd year QB Lock. He will improve this year but will have to deal with tough AFC west opponents who have had time to study him. I rank him as QB 23 with uncertainty. I will moinitor his work in the preseason but I think he has talent to move up this year.

The RBs are a strong crew of 3 RBs but that splits the FP among them. Gordon was brought in to anchor the rushing game. He can rush and catch and is a nice RB but still ranked at RB 20. I value him at his ADP price. Linsday may be the pass-catcher RB and has PPR value with higher uncertainty though. Finally, Freeman will be the short-yard red-zone guy? a 2020 vulture? He is injury valued only.

TE and WRs

Fant is a second year TE and will be improving in his second year. He will not be in peak but could have a solid year. I rank him at TE12 and does have more upside but some uncertainity. The WRs have a nice strucutre with Sutton the lead team WR at WR18 and low uncertainity. Juedy the flashy rookie WR starts out at WR 43 but can move up into WR3 levels with luck and fight though his uncertainty. Hamler and Hamilton are a distance 2 WRs fighting for WR 3 team status. I have Hamler at 86 vs Hamilton at 110. Seems a crew with upside if Lock can roll.

2016 to 2019 Positional Based PPR Fantasy Point Averages (FPA), Team Usages, and Differences from 2019 to 4-year Averages

This table presents:

  • Team
  • Position
  • 2016 to 2019 Fantasy Point Averages
  • 4 Year Sum of Averages
  • % of Positional Usage by the 4-Year Date
  • % of 2019 Team Usages
  • DIFF – 2019 vs last 4-year % Usages (Improving or Declining)

DENVER BRONCOS- Professor’s NFL Team Flash Card. Nice showing by the rookie QB in 2019 at a +1.7% as well as the rookie TE at 2.5%. One might suspect these positions see improvement in 2020. I see the RBs in 2019 were average and but bring in Gordon anchors these RBs. The WRs dropped by -4.2% in 2019and one can speculate that another year of experience for the QB can lead to increased WR activity for 2020. Also freeing up Sutton with the top WR role ahead of Juedy can lead to a very great tandem in 2020.

2015 to 2019 Team Level Targets Per Game, 2019 Usage, 5 Year of Targets/Game Usage, and DIFF in 2019.

This table contains:

  • Team
  • Position
  • 2015 to 2019 Targets Per Game
  • 5 Year Average of Targets Per Game
  • %2019 Usages in Targeting
  • % 5-Year Positional Usage Average
  • DIFF 2019 vs 5-Year Average of Team Positional Usages

DENVER BRONCOS- Professor’s NFL Team Flash Card. Overall Comments: 2019 was all about the RBs that increased by 4% in Targets/Games levels. Given Free Agency DEN now has added to their impact players. Currently, the DEN RBs are Melvin Gordon RB20, Phillip Lindsay RB33, and Royce Freeman RB72. They will be a RBBC crew and as a group will keep the RB position active for 2020. It seems Lindsay might be undervalued some for 2020 in terms of his targets.

The TE position dropped by -3% in 2019 and in 2020 DEN has Noah Fant at TE 12. He is now a second-year TE and figures to improve in 2020.

Finally, the DEN WRs also have added some firepower for 2020. They are Courtland Sutton WR18, Jerry Jeudy WR43, KJ Hamler WR86 and DaeSean Hamilton WR101. I predict that the Rookie Jeuky to be better than WR 43 and he would have upside into WR 3 range. He is a buy for me at his price.
