NBA DFS: Targets for 1/23
-
Updated: January 23, 2017

It’s shaping up to be another fun 9-game slate for NBA DFS! There are a couple of games with blowout potential tonight, with Brooklyn Nets and San Antonio Spurs being one of them. As we seen in their last game against the Pelicans, the Nets could be the one on the scoring side of the blowout. There is the possibility of them keeping it close with the Spurs as well and this game shouldn’t be overlooked.
Kemba Walker (CHA vs. WAS)

FanDuel: $7,900 (PG)
DraftKings: $8,100 (PG)
Walker’s floor should be safe tonight at home against the Wizards. John Wall is prone to turning over the ball multiple times in a game (the last time he didn’t have any turnovers was on December 16th of last year). If he can get two or three steals, it’ll be a nice cushion for Walker’s fantasy points total which he’ll need on a slate with every game’s point total being 204 and above.
George Hill (UTA vs. OKC)
FanDuel: $6,100 (PG)
DraftKings: $6,600 (PG)
With the Jazz playing at the slowest pace as a team, they’ll see a more uptempo game tonight against the Thunder. The game has a point total of 204, with the Jazz as favorites at -5 1/2. It looks as though the Thunder will still be without Steven Adams, to the Jazz’s benefit. I don’t think Hill will be highly owned, which makes for a really nice mid-price target that will differentiate your lineups.
Patty Mills (SAS @ BKN)
FanDuel: $3,600 (PG)
DraftKings: $4,000 (PG)
Tony Parker is out again for the Spurs, and Mills could see about 30 minutes in this game as well. Of course nothing’s certain when it comes to the Spurs but for his price, Mills just needs to reach 20 fantasy points to reach 5x value. This matchup is similar to the Jazz and Thunder in the sense that the Spurs are slower pace team and the Nets play at a faster pace, which should benefit Spurs’ players.
Kevin Durant (GS @ MIA)
FanDuel: $10,600 (SF)
DraftKings: $10,000 (SF)
Durant has become one of the stronger roster options for tonight in the tier of high-priced players, with Andre Iguodala out for rest. For the season he has played the most minutes out of the starters with Iguodala off the court (nbawowy.com). Something to keep in mind is that he’s still seeing minutes in blowout games. With Russell Westbrook, James Harden, and Anthony Davis (to name a few high-priced players), Durant is still the one you want for tonight.
Kristaps Porzingis (NYK @IND)
FanDuel: $7,000 (PF)
DraftKings: $6,800 (PF)
Since coming back from his Achilles injury, Porzingis has seen a slight bump up in minutes and it’s reasonable to think it could increase here as long as the Knicks don’t get blown out against the Pacers. I think a lot of people will look to roster Kevin Love with his drop in price, but Porzingis can make for a fine GPP option as long as he sees similar minutes to his last two games.
Hassan Whiteside (MIA vs. GS)
FanDuel: $8,500 (C)
DraftKings: $7,700 (C)
Normally, the center position is one that I really like and always wish FD would have two center slots, but not tonight. This game against the Warriors should be at a faster pace than what the Heat usually play, giving Whiteside and the team more possessions to tack on fantasy points. He hasn’t been performing as we’re used to seeing but this could be his “get right” game.
Also take into consideration:
Giannis Antetokounmpo (MIL vs. HOU) – on both sites
FanDuel: $10,800 (SG)
DraftKings: $10,600 (PG)
Dejounte Murray (SAS @ BKN) – on both sites, especially if he starts
FanDuel: $3,800 (SG)
DraftKings: $4,100 (PG)
Bradley Beal (WAS @ CHA) – on both sites
FanDuel: $6,700 (SG)
DraftKings: $6,700 (SG)
Dion Waiters (MIA vs. GS) – on both sites w/ Tyler Johnson out
FanDuel: $ 5,500 (SG)
DraftKings: $5,700 (SG/SF)
Sam Dekker (HOU @ MIL) – on both sites if Ryan Anderson is limited
FanDuel: $4,300 (SF)
DraftKings: $4,200 (SF/PF)
Brook Lopez (BKN vs. SAS) – on both sites
FanDuel: $7,600 (C)
