Lesson 66 Team Positional Landscapes Scaled to League Metrics Part 1

Team Positional Landscapes Scaled to League Metrics
Team Positional Landscapes Scaled to League Metrics. I have gone through the first 16 NFL Teams using the Usages of each Position in comparison to the league. For example, we know Team X used their TEs at X%, but what is that compared to all Team TE usages?
Example Figure: Arizona
The example figure shows the ARI Team’s QB/RB/TE/WR usages from 5 years and last year. Next, the DIFF metric reveals the 2020 differences in positional usages. I have gone through this previously, but now I added a league-scaled usage. This is the 2020 Scaled Usage column that compares ARI to the League Average for each Position’s usages.

Next, let us “see” that ARI used its QB at a level +4.8% above league average (Green Bar). Thus Murray will most likely be highly used again in 2021 and bring home numerous Fantasy Points for your team. However, ARI used its TE at a -3.5% below league average and should not be part of your draft plans.
Finally, the RBs were underused at -1.9% (Edmond/Connor) and may be used like that in 2021. On the other hand the WRs were used at +0.5% slightly above average and again are expected to be involved in most games. These scaled numerous support QB drafting and no TE drafting while the RB and WRs are so-so as groups. Note talking about all the WRs not focusing on one player etc.
