Week 15 NFL Picks Against the Spread

Seahawks Russell Wilson

Kyle’s reaction: Last week wasn’t great. The Lions suck but the Cardinals are even worse. I felt good about the Chiefs until they got far too conservative and had to go to OT to pull out a win. The Dolphins however, saved my ass. Thanks Kenyan Drake! Not only did the cover but they got the win outright! Hope you threw a few shekels their way.

Its time to get back to my winning ways and get over .500.

Aaron’s reaction: I should stop taking road favorites. This is getting disgusting. I’ve now missed 11 out of my last 12 picks. And 6 of those losses were picking road favorites.

After starting out the year scorching, I’ve came crashing down to earth like the asteroid that killed the dinosaurs. But, in this metaphor, life prevails! Well, I mean that I will prevail. And hit at least 2 of my picks this week. That’s right – I’m getting back to the money.

Week 13 results:

Aaron: 0-3-0
Kyle: 1-2-0

On the season:

Aaron : 20-21-1
Kyle : 19-21-2

Recaps are for winners, so let’s get right to it:

Aaron’s picks:

Seattle Seahawks -3.5 @ San Francisco 49ers

And there I go again, immediately after explaining how bad I am at these. I can’t get away from this game though. Since 2013, the Seahawks are 12-1 against the 49ers. They have beaten them 10 straight times. The only game that was even close was the 12-9 disaster last year.

The Niners are 3-10 and are coming off a big win against Denver last week. Seattle is playing for the playoffs and their entire team is playing at an extremely high level (see their last 5 games where they are 5-0).

In their last 8 games, they have only lost to the Chargers and the Rams… two of the best teams in the league. This game has the potential to be a bloodbath, but there is very little chance the Seahawks lose or come close to it – 3.5 just isn’t enough.

Pick: Seahawks -3.5

Cincinnati Bengals -3 vs. Oakland Raiders

In the who-gives-a-bleep bowl, I’m looking at a Bengals team that has lost 5-straight, albeit it to quality opponents. They got spanked by the Saints and the Browns, but they kept it close with the Ravens and the Chargers (both on the road).

The Bengals come back home this week to face a Raiders team that just shocked the Steelers on the road. It’s a classic come-down game for the Raiders who have absolutely nothing to play for and a lot of drama in the locker room.

Pick: Bengals -3

Tennessee Titans +1 @ New York Giants

This is so close to a road favorite that I feel disgusted taking it as my first pick. The Giants have been playing well – that’s true.

The Titans have also played surprisingly well since losing 3 straight going into their bye. Since then, Mariota has gotten healthy and they beat the Cowboys and the Patriots. The Titans are only 2-5 on the road this year, but I like to think that regression is in their favor here.

The Giants really should not be winning any more games. They proved that they aren’t as bad as their 1-7 start suggested. Now it’s time to tank and prepare for next year. OBJ has already been ruled out; Engram and Shepard haven’t done enough this year to convince me that this offense will move the ball enough to beat the Titans.

Pick: Titans +1

Kyle’s picks:

Indianapolis Colts -3 vs Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys have been on fire as of late including covering 5 straight. They also pulled the game out of their ass last week thanks to Amari Cooper and 3 TDs. The Colts have also playing much better and looking to make a late run. They have won 5 of their last 6 and the loss to Jacksonville seems like an outlier.

The Cowboys are on the road for the first in a month and the Colts return home for the first time in three weeks. I expect Andrew Luck and company to perform well at home while Dallas gets a dose of reality. Colts win and cover this week.

Pick: Indianapolis -3

Minnesota Vikings -7.5 vs Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins had a massive win at home a week ago with a miracle that play that had Kenyan Drake running past Rob Gronkowski for the game winning TD. This week they head on the road to face the Minnesota Vikings.

The Vikings looked bad in an island game, led by Kirk Cousins who looked horrendous in the second half. The defense did look solid for the majority of the game. They are going to give Ryan Tannehill and company so many issues.

I expect the Vikings to roll at home with Dalvin Cook roasting some seafood. Take Minnesota and watch them bounce back.

Pick: Minnesota -7.5

Pittsburgh Steelers +3 vs New England Patriots

The Steelers looked really bad a week ago in Oakland, a place where Ben Roethlisberger has traditionally struggled. There is an outside shot James Conner is back this week, but even if he doesn’t Jaylen Samuels has been fine.

I expect the Steeler passing game to torch the Patriot defense this week. The Patriots should play well this week after falling apart in Miami a week ago but they are on the road for the second straight week. The defense has been a mess, the offense has been fine and the run game has been unpredictable.

I’m taking the home team getting a field goal.

Pick: Pittsburgh +3

Good luck in Week 15!
