2020 PPR Rankings with Player Uncertainty Levels

- Fantasy Sport’s Professor’s Rankings (Scale of 100 to 0-Green to Red)
- Uncertainty Level of High, Average or Low
CAROLINA PANTHERS – Professor’s NFL Team Flash Card. The DST and Kicker are not in play for me in 2020, ranked at DST27 and K14.
QB and RBs
The CAR changed QB going away for Allen and Newton to Bridgewater. Bridgewater has not excelled as a QB1 type. He will have to really move forward to give the pass-catchers a chance for high production. I rank him at QB26 with uncertainty. I suspect given the DST, he will be rushing more and shorter passing. Maybe TE the benefits?
The RBs are CMC and others in this crew. CMC will be the bell-cow in rushing and pass-catching. His 2019 was a landmark season! I rank him at RB1 with low uncertainty without injury. The other RBs are Bonnafon and Davis at RB94 and 109th as handcuffs only. Maybe a gamble in best-ball?
TEs and WRs
I have Thomas ranked as a TE20, but the upside is there given the game scripts of a team with weak DST and a rushing QB. Thomas is an excellent TE2 type in best-ball and redraft for 2020. Nice gamble play here.
The WRs of CAR are DJ Moore as the clear WR1 type ranked at WR12. He is a low WR1 type. I have him at little uncertainty, but I may be giving too much credit to him. He is one that I think after the fact of my ranking, that I feel like sure about. The QB is my issue for Moore. Anderson is the next WR at WR53 and should be a red-zone or long field boom-bust players. Excellent for best-ball leagues. Finally, the WR3rd of CAR is Samuel ar WR64. He and Anderson have uncertainty. Samuel is a long-shot gamble late in redrafts/best-ball situations.
2016 to 2019 Positional Based PPR Fantasy Point Averages (FPA), Team Usages, and Differences from 2019 to 4-year Averages
This TableTable presents:
- 2016 to 2019 Fantasy Point Averages
- 4 Year Sum of Averages
- % of Positional Usage by the 4-Year Date
- % of 2019 Team Usages
- DIFF – 2019 vs. last 4-year % Usages (Improving or Declining)
CAROLINA PANTHERS – Professor’s NFL Team Flash Card.Firstly, CAR in 2019 was RB (CMC) centric at a +4.8% increase in fantasy football usage. All other positions were decreased. Cam was injured, and Allen was not able to get it going. CAR added QB Teddy Bridgewater, TE Seth DeValve, WR Pharoh Cooper WR3, WR Robby Anderson WR1/2, and WR Seth Roberts WR3.
Secondly, can Bridgewater move the CAR team in 2020? TB had a nice 2019 @ Saints 67.9% completions 1,384 passing yards, 9 TDs 2INT and 99.1 rating. He should be a great addition and give us at least 250 FPs for 2020. That is a QB2 type as a floor. This issue is the CAR DST is weak sauce, and he will be playing catch up much more than in NO! That can shift the Bridgewater paradigm to a weaker performance for 2020.
Finally, CAR lost TE Olsen leaving Ian Thomas, who may work his way to an excellent TE2 type, especially if the QB is forced to play a short game. The WR1s in CAR are Moore, Anderson, and Samuels, who all figure as the Key WRs 1, 2, and 3. Anderson would still be an excellent best ball WR target because of his Boom Bust game. RB Tops
2015 to 2019 Team Level Targets Per Game, 2019 Usage, 5 Year of Targets/Game Usage, and DIFF in 2019.
This TableTable contains:
- 2015 to 2019 Targets Per Game
- 5 Year Average of Targets Per Game
- %2019 Usages in Targeting
- % 5-Year Positional Usage Average
- DIFF 2019 vs. 5-Year Average of Team Positional Usages
CAROLINA PANTHERS – Professor’s NFL Team Flash Card. Overall Comments: CAR with RB 1, Christian McCaffrey, is in the top 3 conversations for 2020, but some regression will be expected. His 2019 was over the top!
On the other hand, the TEs took a massive 2019 decline by 10%, and Ian Thomas still is a TE 2 type. The current WRs are D.J. Moore, Robby Anderson, and Curtis Samuel, who are by ADP about a WR1/2, WR 4/5, and 4/5/6.
Interestingly, CAR gets Bridgwater as QB who can pass, but the chemistry remains an issue. I expect a steady 2020 production but at a QB2 level in passing, but his rushing can place him in QB1 status. The question remains how he does in a catchup situation? CMC and TE usage in targeting? Still murky for 2020 CAR.
