2020 PPR Rankings with Player Uncertainty Levels

This Table includes:

  • Team
  • Bye Week
  • Position Rankings
  • Position
  • Overall Name
  • Fantasy Sport’s Professor’s Rankings (Scale of 100 to 0-Green to Red)
  • Uncertainty Level of High, Average or Low

NYG DST and Kicker are a pass in 2020. I suspect the poor DST will pressure the team to pass more to keep up with their opponents!

QB and RBs

Jones is the QB this year at QB 14 ranking with upside in the sense of passing heavy approach being predicted for 2020. He will a solid QB2 and low QB1 type.

Barkley is the Bell-Cow RB and all rushing flows through him at RB2 rankings. Lewis (RB 69 low?) is a pass-catcher RB and could have best ball appeal late in drafts. Gallman is the rushing handcuff?

TE and WRs

Given the pass heavy game scripts that are predicted for 2020, these players are key if NYG has any chance of hitting the playoffs. Engram is TE7 should be a strong factor in the red-zone and is a nice later TE draft candidate. Kaden is a handcuff only as of now.

The WRs should be led by Shepard at WR38 followed by Slayton at WR46 and Tate at WR54 with uncertainty. Hard to see this crew getting all the passing love and the public agrees. Draft and hope for Slayton and Tate being better than thought for 2020. Not encouraged for them in 2020.

2016 to 2019 Positional Based PPR Fantasy Point Averages (FPA), Team Usages, and Differences from 2019 to 4-year Averages

This table presents:

  • Team
  • Position
  • 2016 to 2019 Fantasy Point Averages
  • 4 Year Sum of Averages
  • % of Positional Usage by the 4-Year Date
  • % of 2019 Team Usages
  • DIFF – 2019 vs last 4-year % Usages (Improving or Declining)

NEW YORK GIANTS- Professor’s NFL Team Flash Card. In 2019, the new NYG QB was used by 5.3% more by FP production metrics and generated the best FPs in the last 4 years.

The TE and WRs were above the 4-year average but both declined by a slight 0.3/0.2%. The issue in the passing was that a spread in FPs within the TE and WRs and no one exceeded the other players who are pass-catchers.

in 2019, NYG had 3 WR3s_1WR4_TE1  –  27. Golden Tate 28. Sterling Shepard 33. T.J. Jones 42. Darius Slayton and  7. Evan Engram.  No one WR or TE had the focus and RB8 Saquon Barkley was targeted at the 8th level in RBs!

In addition, the RBs dropped to a near 4 year low and by -4.8%. In 2020, I expect the QB uses his WRs or TEs more. I predict that the RBs are going to stay near 2019 levels but note Deon Lewis added and he can pass catch as well as Barkley. I think the TEs have the best shot in 2020 for increases in team usage.

2015 to 2019 Team Level Targets Per Game, 2019 Usage, 5 Year of Targets/Game Usage, and DIFF in 2019.

This table contains:

  • Team
  • Position
  • 2015 to 2019 Targets Per Game
  • 5 Year Average of Targets Per Game
  • %2019 Usages in Targeting
  • % 5-Year Positional Usage Average
  • DIFF 2019 vs 5-Year Average of Team Positional Usages

NEW YORK GIANTS- Professor’s NFL Team Flash Card. Overall Comments: 2019 NYG RBs were used less in Targets/Games by -4.4%. The current RB were Saquon Barkley RB2,  Dion Lewis RB69, and Wayne Gallman RB105. NYG RBs were more about the rushing as the T/G was at 18% which was low. Lewis will have value as a pass-catcher as a handcuff in 2020.

The TEs were used nicely at 35% in team targets/games and that was an increase in 4.3%. Evan Engram is the NYG TE at TE7. Given the usages that seems a fair price.

Finally, the WR were steady in 2019 but the usages at 46% are above average and that puts all WR in play but too much spreading of the FPs?. They players are Sterling Shepard WR38, Darius Slayton WR46, and  Golden Tate WR54. The public seems a split T/G situation but gives the nod to Shepard at WR38. The other two can be useful in 2020 as well. Take the cheaper one in the 2020 drafts.
