CFB DFS Saturday Night Sleepers

Now that the Day Slate is complete, it’s time for a CFB DFS nightcap! As always, I focus on DraftKings targets each week here on Fake Pigskin. My goal is to identify three to four low-cost/reasonable floor targets as foundational pieces for all my lineups.

This way, you start by boosting your remaining price per player in the range to roster as many high floor/high upside guys who we all anticipate substantial statistical output from.

For example, I am not going to come at you with hot suggestions like Matt Corral and Sam Howell. What I will do is point out that rostering the expensive QB duo will leave your average remaining price per player at $5,300. My objective each week will be to offer a reasonable path to affording the best players. But, enough about me! As Love Island UK’s narrator Iain Stirling best puts it, we’re here to talk about CFB DFS…. TONIGHT!!

Jelani Woods | TE | $3,400 Virginia

This former Oklahoma State converted quarterback transfer is coming off a breakout 5-122-1 performance against Illinois last week. Was this an aberration? Or, perhaps a sign of things to come? There’s no way to know for sure, but I’ll lean towards the ladder.

His athleticism for a player his size (6’7″ 265 lb) never got properly utilized during his time in Stillwater. Coming to Virginia, there isn’t any confusion about position conversions or playing time. It’s clear he’ll have an opportunity that wasn’t available with the Cowboys. At this price in a game that should see plenty of offense, he’s a great building block for the slate.

Parker Washington | WR | $4,300 Penn State

This Texas native returns for his sophomore season as the clear second option in the Nittany Lion pass game. With big tight end Pat Freiermuth’s departure to the NFL, Quarterback Sean Clifford has Washington and standout Jahan Dotson as the only real pass catchers where a rapport exists.

Parker has 10 grabs through two games this season after averaging a 4-54 line one year ago. That marble floor is accompanied by legit upside with six touchdowns in just nine games as a freshman. As a paydown option at receiver, Washington is definitely worth consideration for tonight’s board.

Dontario Drummond | WR | $5,900 Ole Miss

We probably shouldn’t leave without targeting the highest projected scoring contest of the night. This is just an example of a price error. The WR1 spot in this explosive offense may still be fleshing out, but Drummond certainly has a claim on it leading the team in catches (15), yards (284), and touchdowns (3) through two games. If this production continues, we won’t see him south of 6k probably for the rest of 2021. Take advantage while you can.

On the Green Wave side, I think running back Tyjae Spears and wideout Jaetavian Toles are worth a look for an offense projected to put up 30 plus points. Spears was a game breaker averaging seven yards per carry last season before getting injured. And, so far Toles looks like he’ll be flirting with tight end Tyrick James as quarterback Michael Pratt’s top target in 2021. In a matchup like this, they both have phenomenal CFB DFS price/floor/upside combination potential.

Good luck in the Week 3 night slate! Follow me on twitter @realBobbyAdcock compliments and insults are always welcomed.
