NFL 2021: Week 7 Streaming Defenses

It is Week 7 and the six teams on their Bye Week represent at least four of the best defenses in the league.  So it is time to check out that waiver wire and see what are your best options.

NEW ORLEANS SAINTS, ROSTERED 40%, @ SEATTLE SEAHAWKS

The Seahawks will be without the services of Russell Wilson, Chris Carson, and maybe Alex Collins.

The Saints are coming off their bye week and are still the number one team in allowing the least red zone scoring (35.71%).

This is a Monday Night Football Game, with an over-under 43.5, and the Saints are favored by five.

At MonkeyKnifeFight.com, Geno Smith’s more or less is currently at 225.5 passing yards.

In his last two games, Smith has thrown for 131 yards and 209 yards, respectively.  He also has two touchdowns, one interception, and five sacks.

LAS VEGAS RAIDERS, ROSTERED 13% @ PHILADELPHIA EAGLES

The Raiders looked good in Week 6 against the Denver Broncos.  Quarterback, Teddy Bridgewater, did have three touchdown passes, but he also had three interceptions and was sacked five times.

Their current opponent, Jalen Hurts, has thrown eight touchdowns and four interceptions while being sacked 12 times.

The Eagles’ offense is 23rd in passing yards (232.3) and 21st in total yards (360.3).

The over-under for this game is currently 49, with the Saints a field goal favorite.

NEW YORK GIANTS, ROSTERED 2%, @ CAROLINA PANTHERS

There is a reason the Giants are only rostered in two percent of fantasy leagues.  They are 29th in rushing yards allowed (137.2), 29th in points allowed (29.5), and 22nd in passing yards allowed (264.2), but wait, this could be a sneaky good start.

Sam Darnold has cooled down considerably after starting the season red-hot (with Christian McCaffrey in the line-up).  He has tossed four touchdowns and six interceptions in his last three games, and he has also been sacked 12 times in those three games.

His last game passing over 300 yards was against Dallas (301 yards). Since then, he has passed for 177 yards on 37 attempts and 21 completions and 207 yards last week on 41 attempts and 17 completions.

This is the time for the Giants’ defense to pad those stats.

CONCLUSION

This bye week will be challenging.  Look for the match-ups. What seems a bit shoddy may just be a diamond in the rough.
