2020 PPR Rankings with Player Uncertainty Levels

This Table includes:

  • Team
  • Bye Week
  • Position Rankings
  • Position
  • Overall Name
  • Fantasy Sport’s Professor’s Rankings (Scale of 100 to 0-Green to Red)
  • Uncertainty Level of High, Average or Low

DST and K

My rankings would support both the DST and Kicker as draftable for 2020. I rate the KC DST at DST5 with some uncertainity. Additionally, the Kicker is K2 in ranking with low uncertainity.

QB and RB

Mahomes if the guy for 2020. I have him at QB2 with low uncertainity. A support piece in your FF team. He has more experiences and figures for improvement in 2020. Given the the players around him he is a reasonable early draft pick.

The RBs are expected to be a RBBC with the rookie growing into the team’s top RB. CEH is ranked 15th but as a rookie does have uncertainty about him. D Williams is the next RB down and is at RB43. He have some value as a handcuff and short yardage guy? Injury to CEH makes him rocket up in value. The other 3 RBs are talented but high uncertainity ranked at 77, 78, and 99th RBs. Watch for any roles these 3 RBs assume for a mid season waiver pickup.

TE and WR

KC has had a 1 2 punch with Kelce as the TE and Hill as the WR for the team. Kelce is TE1 and low uncertainty. He is worth an early grab in best ball or TE forward leagues. In the WRs, HIll is WR5 ranked at low uncertainty. Solid combo if you can get them. The problem for the other WRs is that they will have to “fight” for FP! I ranked Hardman and Watkins at 57 and 59. They for the WR3 spot are interchangeable. I would take the cheap if nothing else can break their tie. Good best ball plays.

2016 to 2019 Positional Based PPR Fantasy Point Averages (FPA), Team Usages, and Differences from 2019 to 4-year Averages

This table presents:

  • Team
  • Position
  • 2016 to 2019 Fantasy Point Averages
  • 4 Year Sum of Averages
  • % of Positional Usage by the 4-Year Date
  • % of 2019 Team Usages
  • DIFF – 2019 vs last 4-year % Usages (Improving or Declining)

KANSAS CITY CHIEFS – Professor’s NFL Team Flash Card. In 2019 the KC team moved up in QB and WR FP usages by 2.1 and 0.9%. Their passing game overtook the rushing as the RBs dropped by -1.3% and surprisingly the TE usage dropped by -1.8%.

Additionally, given the strength of Kelce it seems very inefficient not to have him be involved even more. 2019 was the lowest for TEs in the last 3 years as was the RBs. Hard to imagine RBs improve in 2020 unless CEH is the next hot flash rookie. Again I expect a bias to passing and if you think CEH can block and pass-catch he could have upside at RB15.

2015 to 2019 Team Level Targets Per Game, 2019 Usage, 5 Year of Targets/Game Usage, and DIFF in 2019.

This table contains:

  • Team
  • Position
  • 2015 to 2019 Targets Per Game
  • 5 Year Average of Targets Per Game
  • %2019 Usages in Targeting
  • % 5-Year Positional Usage Average
  • DIFF 2019 vs 5-Year Average of Team Positional Usages

KANSAS CITY CHIEFS – Professor’s NFL Team Flash Card. Firstly, overall comments based on 2019 saw a drop in RB and WR Targets/Game by -0.7% and 1.4% while the strong TEs moved up by 2.1%. The TE usage is extremely high and barring injury that limits the upside of the other positions.

Secondly, the WRs were being used at 40% which is low as is the RBs at 20% usages. The main TE is Travis Kelce TE1 and is predicted to be the top in 2020. Given the 2019 year, nothing seems possible to change that.

Next, The RBs for KC are currently, Clyde Edwards-Helaire RB15, Damien Williams RB43 , DeAndre Washington RB78, Darwin Thompson RB77, and Darrel Williams RB99. The public cannot choose between the 2 veterans as RB3 types. These three are scrap RBs unless injury.

Finally, the KC WRs are Tyreek Hill WR5,  Sammy Watkins WR59, Mecole Hardman WR57, and Demarcus Robinson WR101. Hill is the public choice for the main T/G with Watkins/Hardman flipflopping into the WR2 or 3 spots. Given the lower WR usages Hill seems the safe way to draft and avoid the other 2 unless injury happens in 2020.
