My rankings analysis with the predicted weakest DST in the league for 2020. (They were 30th of so in 2019). Thus one can predict a lot of pressure on Burrow. (Rookie QB). CIN has a weak kicker as well.
The flash rookiw QB of Burrow bring a level of uncertainty for the passing game. Maybe the TEs come alive in 2020? I have him as QB19 now. Maybe in a 2QB league?
The CIN RBs are Mixon and Bernard at 7th and 59th in value. Weaker passing should favor Mixon but do DST’s “stack the box” against the Rookie QB? Mixon maybe more boom bust than some may think at RB7. Plant that concern in your 2020 drafting garden! If you invest in Mixon it makes since to take Bernard as a deep draft handcuff.
The TEs in CIN were not so great in 2019 and CIN let 219 20th Tyler Eifert go. They did get Uzomah back as well as Sample (Blocking TE?). I fade these guys.
Finally, Burrow gets an older WR1 guy in AJ Green as well as Boyd. I see them as WR1A and 1B but they split the FP and leave both out of the WR1 discussions. Injury to either helps the other. Hard to invest for an injury? Who is the WR3 in here? I choose Higgins at 71 vs Ross at 76 ranked WR. I would watch for more infomation deeper into preseason.

2016 to 2019 Positional Based PPR Fantasy Point Averages (FPA), Team Usages, and Differences from 2019 to 4-year Averages
This table presents:
- 2016 to 2019 Fantasy Point Averages
- 4 Year Sum of Averages
- % of Positional Usage by the 4-Year Date
- % of 2019 Team Usages
- DIFF – 2019 vs last 4-year % Usages (Improving or Declining)
CINCINNATI BENGALS – Professor’s NFL Team Flash Card. The 2019 season was eh. The QB position did improve by 2.8% and the RB dropped by -3.7%. Concerns for the RBs given that 2019 was the worst in 4 years. Watch for change but with a QB rookie its tricky to expect Mixon to be a steady producer (Boom Bush RB1 type?).
Note the 2019 TEs had the best in the last 4 year but that level was not very good. Eifert is gone so not sure what role TEs will play in this offense.
WRs in 2019 did improve slightly and they need to improve for 2020. Murky Team for 2020 with the QB rookie. Green and Boyd seem to be the tandem WR1s and thus as a committee each splits FP with the other. Injury helps either one to move up. Do not draft for injury!
2015 to 2019 Team Level Targets Per Game, 2019 Usage, 5 Year of Targets/Game Usage, and DIFF in 2019.
This table contains:
- 2015 to 2019 Targets Per Game
- 5 Year Average of Targets Per Game
- %2019 Usages in Targeting
- % 5-Year Positional Usage Average
- DIFF 2019 vs 5-Year Average of Team Positional Usages
CINCINNATI BENGALS – Professor’s NFL Team Flash Card. Overall Comments: 2019 CIN dropped in TE usages by -8% while RB and WR collected that targeting drop by having a increasing 4.7% and 3.2%.
Looking at the RBs we see 2018 and 2019 were nice targeting years much higher than the 3-year preceding. (1.7 vs 2.8 ish-40% increase in T/G). Expect 2020 to be steady with Joe Mixon and Giovani Bernard being at a RB 1 and RB 5 types respectively.
A new QB in Rookie Burrows may lead to changes. WRs currently are A.J. Green, Tyler Boyd, Tee Higgins, John Ross, and Auden Tate. Green and Boyd are WR2/3 types. The actual range of WR outcomes is large for 2020.
Finally, will the new QB give the TEs a new slate and have increased 2020 production? Currently CIN has TE Drew Samples, a young TE in experience and should improve in 2020 but i think he blocks more than catches passes.
