Week 13 IDP Waiver Wire

It’s Week 13 and in many leagues it’s the final matchup before the fantasy playoffs begin. Listed below are some players that can help owners in this final week and also aid their squads as they try to make a playoff run. All league sizes are different so these players may or may not be available in your league.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone and good luck in this final week before the fantasy playoffs!

Cole Holcomb – LB – Washington Redskins

One player who made his presence felt in Week 12 was Redskin’s rookie, Cole Holcomb. Holcomb had a monster game, amassing 13 total tackles (7 solo), one tackle for loss, and a sack. The only catch is his playing time has been up and down all season. Holcomb produced his impressive Week 12 stat line on only 67% of the defensive snaps. Hopefully, the big outing warrants him getting more snaps going forward. Holcomb draws a positive matchup against the Panthers this week and could be a solid option for teams looking for LB help.

Sean Lee – LB – Dallas Cowboys

Dallas, star linebacker, Leighton Vander Esch, had a flare up to a neck injury he had been previously battling and missed this past week’s game. With LVE out, the old veteran, Sean Lee, stepped in and filled the void at linebacker for the defense. Lee played 69% of the snaps in Week 12 and collected 6 total tackles (4 solo) and a pass defended. While he isn’t the player he once was, Lee is a serviceable option while LVE is out.

Bruce Irvin – DE – Carolina Panthers

Irvin, had a bounce back week against the Saints this week, producing a solid stat line of four total tackles (3 solo), one tackle for loss, and a sack. Another positive is Irvin has played at least 75% of Carolina’s defensive snaps the past three weeks. Irvin goes up against a weak Washington offensive line this week and could be in line for another solid outing.

Jabaal Sheard – DE – Indianapolis Colts

Sheard’s production has really dropped off as of late and his last sack was back in Week 10 against Miami. Although he hasn’t produced recently, he is a solid pass rusher and has been consistently playing just over 70% of the defensive snaps over the past seven weeks. With a poor Tennessee offensive line that has surrendered 43 sacks on tap, Sheard has a legit chance to right the ship and get back into the sack column this week.

Derwin James – S – Los Angeles Chargers

If James happens to be on your waiver wire, run and grab him right away!! James has been on IR up to this point, but has a chance to make his return this week. While James may be on a snap count right away or possibly wait another week to play, his return to the field is coming. Meaning owner’s could be getting a legit DB1 for the playoffs.

Jarrod Wilson – S – Jacksonville Jaguars

It’s been an up and down year for Jacksonville, safety, Jarrod Wilson. Though, he has picked it up some the last two weeks, collecting 11 total tackles (9 solo) and an interception. Although Wilson’s stats aren’t flashy, he is out there every snap and the Jaguars may be without Ronnie Harrison this week after he suffered a concussion. Wilson draws the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this week, who are generous to opposing DBs and Jameis Winston is coming off a game where he threw another two interceptions. Wilson is a deeper league grab for DB needy teams with his plus matchup against the Bucs.
