NFL 2018 Week 13: Must Start IDP Players Last Minute Edition

So are you in your fantasy football IDP playoffs?  Are you fighting to get in or are you in a position in Week 13 to stop your arch nemesis from reaching the playoffs?

Either way your IDP roster is solid, but there are those pesky injuries and little whispers of ‘is he good enough’ that you have to get through.

Here are a few good men to keep in mind:

Allen Bailey, Defensive End, Kansas City Chiefs

It is not often that a player on the Kansas City Chiefs’ defense is a must plug-n-play start. However, this week the Chiefs will play the dumpster fire that is currently residing under the silver and black, commonly known as the 2018 Jon Gruden-led Oakland Raiders.

The Raiders season is kaput.  Now they are playing their ‘younger’ players, which one has to assume is an on the field tryout?  Anyway, Bailey has racked up sacks in consecutive weeks.  Now he goes up against the Raiders who have allowed the second most points to defensive ends.  Not to mention quarterback Derek Carr has been sacked 35 times this season.

This looks like feeding time for Bailey.

Gerald Hodges, Linebacker, Arizona Cardinals

Speaking of dumpster fires, the Arizona Cardinals will venture into very cold Green Bay as a 14 point underdog. While the Green Bay Packers are also reeling, it is a game that should see plenty of Aaron, but Jones not Rodgers.

Gerald Hodges entered last week’s game when Josh Bynes left with an injury.  Hodges managed to lead the team in tackles with 10 totals, while playing 67% of the snaps.

Bynes was placed on injured reserve Monday.  Hodges should see an uptake in snaps and an increase in tackles week 13.

Karl Joseph, Defensive Back, Oakland Raiders

For most of the beginning of the season Karl Joseph was a no-show.  Now with the season officially over (see above) Joseph is one of those players who is being placed of the field for evaluation (my words not theirs).

Last week Joseph played on 87% of the defensive snaps against the Baltimore Ravens.  He finished the game with eight total tackles.  That was against an offense that is not nearly as potent as the one he will be facing this week.

The Chiefs will be throwing the ball more than the Ravens which could lessen Joseph’s time on the field.  Look for him to optimize the time he is on the field.
