After taking a few weeks off writing Daily Fantasy MMA advice for Draftkings contests I’m back for what is shaping up to be the best card of the year thus far. First off I did not write predictions for the past couple of events because they were either VERY early in the morning, only on UFC Fight Pass, or both. I just assumed many people either wouldn’t be watching or playing. would love to hear your feedback on that for future events. Anyhow enough about that, let’s talk some fisticuffs with UFC 187: Johnson vs. Cormier.
The first thing I noticed when looking at the pricing this week is how tight it is. In a card that doesn’t look to feature many upsets according to Vegas. it is going to be hard to try and get a lineup with 4 wins or more. This may be one of those cards where you have to end up picking a couple of the same fighters from fights. That might be ok for cash games but DO NOT do that in GPPs because it limits your points ceiling so much. The only exception might be the Main Event featuring Anthony Johnson ($9,400) and Daniel Cormier ($10,100). This is for a few reasons. With this being a 5 round fight, they hold the most time upside for the price. Vegas also feels the fight WILL NOT end in a decision. Vegas also has this fight at essentially a pick em.
Speaking of Vegas, we always start by looking at the biggest favorites according to Vegas. Four guys stand out as massive favorites which include Joseph Benavidez ($11,700), Donald Cerrone ($11,200) , John Dodson ($11,200), and Chris Weidman ($11,400). After that all the favorites are priced 10.7K and up. Like I said most of these fights look to have pretty heavy favorites.

I know my predictions this week might be kinda straight forward and short, but this card doesn’t present a ton of cheap options, so your lineups can end up being built for you based on remaining salary after you take your top 2-3 fighters. Maybe the best piece of advice I could give you, or remind you of heading into UFC 187 would be to have strict bankroll management and remember ANYTHING can happen in Daily Fantasy MMA!
