So last weeks predictions for DraftKings Daily Fantasy MMA did not go as planned…AT ALL!. I think the underdogs on the card went something like 10-1. As the card progressed I started feeling not as angry about my decisions because it was a bit of an fluky event. That being said it does prove the fact that anyone in the UFC can beat anyone on any given day. And there is no better way to get over this these awful results than to jump into another even which is UFC 184: Rousey vs. Zingano so lets get it on!
I think the pricing is a bit more friendly this week even though a couple of the fighters are some of the most expensive we have seen since Draftkings started holding MMA contests. I am still going to stick with the strategy of trying to get as many vegas favorites on the card as possible. For the biggest favorites this week we are looking at the number one ranked female fighter in the world Ronda Rousey ($13,500) and heavyweight favorite Derek Lewis ($12,600). I feel you can fit both of them in your lineup and still have a competitive lineup.
Looking at some other favorites I kind of like Jake Ellenberger ($11,400) to defeat Josh Koscheck ($8,500), but I do think it is a bit of a risky pick for the price. Tony Ferguson ($11,400) also makes a nice play taking on Gleison Tibau ($8,500) who just fought a few weeks ago. You would think Holly Holm ($13,400) would be a nice play in the co-main event, but look a little closer. First off you could just pay up $100 more to pick Ronda Rousey who is much more of a favorite. Secondly the prop bets for this are not favored to end in an early finish, reducing Holm’s upside. Not only that but it makes Raquel Pennington a decent punt option to fit the higher priced fighters into your lineup.
Fantasy just got a whole lot better thanks to Monkey Knife Fight. With fast-paced games like Rapid Fire and Either/Or, it’s never been easier to play fantasy and win. New to MKF? Get Exclusive $100 Deposit Match + Free $5 Game
Speaking of punts lets look at some of the cheap fighters you might want to look at. As I said Raquel Pennington ($6,400) is a decent punt with the fight looking like it might go to a decision. If it does you can hope for some points to add up. Another fighter to look at Tim Means ($9,900) is a favorite and a great price so he is almost a plug and play for me. A couple other cheaper fighters that you may want to look at include Roman Salazar ($7,600), Roman Carneiro ($7,700), and Richard Walsh ($7,400).
