We are onto another great week of Daily Fantasy MMA on Draftkings with UFC On FOx 14. Once again it will be hard to roster even a couple of the favorites, without taking chance on some underdogs. If you had Cathal Pendred or Lorenz Larkin on your rosters last week it really paid off. Vegas also proved to once again know what they are talking about, as most of their favorites’ were victorious. Before I get onto this weeks fight card and salaries, Here are a few things I’ve noticed so far about MMA Daily Fantasy on Draftkings.
I mentioned before how hard it is to construct a decent lineup due to a VERY tight salary cap. it appears to have a winning lineup, especially in GPPs, you must take a shot on one of the underdogs of the night. Another thing I have noticed is how many people are selecting the main event fighters. This may be due to hype, or that they are simply the best fighters on the card. Either way it looks like you need to have the winning main event fighter on your roster, which will most likely push you over into the payzone in either your cash games or tournaments. That being said lets take a look at this weeks fighters.
UFC On Fox 14 looks like one of the hardest events yet to build a lineup on Draftkings. The salaries might have come down slightly, but its still hard to get even 2 favorites in your lineup without filling the rest of your lineup out with the biggest underdogs of the nights. Also Vegas has many of these fights near even, which makes predicting fighter wins even more interesting. In the main event Alexander Gustafsson takes on Anthony Johnson in what should be a great battle. This could go either way, but for the price I’m leaning toward Gustafsson. He is fighting in his home country of Sweden, and should be able to rack up points with the amount of strikes he will connect with. Also on the higher end I like Gegard Mousasi and Mairbek Taisumov if you can somehow fit them into your lineups.
On the cheaper end, you are pretty much looking at underdogs. However there is an exception with Sultan Aliev who is a favorite to win. Aliev is priced at $9,700 making him an almost auto plug and play for me. Other underdogs you may look at this week include Sam Sicilia, Makwan Amirkhani and Nico Musoke.
And last but not least a fight you WILL want to target one way or another is Nikita Krylov vs. Stanislav Nedkov. This fight has a good chance of being over in the first round, as both of these guys are reckless, KO specialists. While this match could really go either way, I’m leaning towards Nedkov simply because he is cheaper and has just as much chance to win.
If you don’t have a Draftkings account you can sign up here. Best of luck this week!
