Transfer Talk: Lambert to Liverpool

by Ryan Rabiego On May 31, 2014

With less than two weeks until the first football is kicked off in the 2014 World Cup, most of us footballers have turned our attention to Brazil. Just a handful of International friendlies remain as club managers are being faced with some of the toughest decisions they have dealt with as they trim the rosters down. But, as the summer will fly by as we cheer on our respective nation’s finest and watch the tournament unfold, it’s

Chicago Bears’ running back Matt Forte will be the top fantasy football player in 2014.  Yep, there it is.  In print, and unable to be retracted. Intrigued?  Believe me, if I read that, I would be, too. Your mind is is probably racing right now.  How did he come to such a seemingly preposterous conclusion? When you head into your draft, like everyone else, you’re looking for the best available player.  The thing about fantasy

Top Five Quarterbacks

by Kyle Robert On May 30, 2014
(Rich Schultz/Getty Images North America)

Fantasy football players and analysts alike are starting to organize for the upcoming season so of course, I am currently working on getting my rankings updated. Putting my quarterback ranks together has been a challenge, specifically the top 5. Aaron Rodgers, Peyton Manning and Drew Brees occupy most people’s top 3 in some order. After that there are a few names that are part of the discussion for the final two spots.   Matthew Stafford Why he

It’s Friday, which means it’s time for fantasy baseball owners to hike up their pants and lace their boots for the Week 9 stretch run. The long Memorial Day weekend may have left you a little hungover, so I’ll let you slide if you forgot to set your lineup because you puked on your computer’s keyboard — but there are no excuses anymore! Montee Ball “Making Strides”

by Ken Wang On May 30, 2014

Denver OC Adam Gase, who probably has the most boring job in the league, said that he has seen Ball make the most strides throughout the 2013 season, and looks forward to seeing more this offseason. Ball is set to be the featured back in Peyton Manning’s high octane offense. Knowshon Moreno was able to be a top 5 RB last year, and Ball is clearly more talented. The sky is the limit for the former

Vernon Davis Missing from OTAs

by Ken Wang On May 29, 2014

The 30-year old TE is reportedly dissatisfied with his current contract, and is skipping these voluntary OTAs. Until Vernon skips the mandatory minicamps next month, this is nothing more than just a situation to keep an eye on.

Sproles Light Workload

by Ken Wang On May 29, 2014

The Philadelphia Inquirer suggested today that newly acquired Darren Sproles will get around 6-to-8 touches a game this season, slightly lower than his 9.54 touches from scrimmage over the last three years with the Saints. LeSean McCoy owners shouldn’t worry about Sproles taking away from his carries, but Nick Foles owners should be excited to have a matchup nightmare for opposing defenses.

Mauro Zarate, West Ham United – FWD

by Ryan Rabiego On May 29, 2014

West Ham United have signed Argentine forward Zarate and club manager Sam Allardyce sees him making a big impact. Coming off his best form for Velez Sarsfield, in which he netted 13 times in 19 league appearances during the 2014 season(20 goals total in 2013/14), Big Sam is predicting Zarate to continue that goal scoring form for his club. With the club lacking a finisher this past season, the team had many chances created and are

Follow @k_wang32 Arizona: At the end of the Cardinal’s minicamp workout on Tuesday, head coach Bruce Arians said that he wanted 2nd year RB Andre Ellington to be involved in 25 to 30 snaps per game. He averaged only 8 carries a game last year, though with that limited amount of carries he led the entire NFL in average yards per carry at 5.5. The obvious concern about giving Ellington 25 to 30 touches a game,

Sam Bradford as a 2014 QB2

by Joshua Lake On May 29, 2014
Sam Bradford 2014

Remember the first week of 2013, when it looked like the Rams would be an elite fantasy offense, and we all thought Jared Cook was the next coming of Jimmy Graham? Cook had 7 catches for 141 yards and two touchdowns; while Sam Bradford completed over 70% of his passes, threw for 299 yards, and had two passing touchdowns. We all know that the season didn’t quite end up following that same trajectory, and Sam

Passing Touchdown

Know your league’s settings. It’s the First Commandment for fantasy football, but it’s also a great reminder in 2QB and superflex leagues. The one setting you need to know, above all else, is whether your league awards four or six points per passing touchdown. Those two points per touchdown may seem insignificant, but in today’s pass-heavy NFL, that could mean almost 100 points over the course of the season. In 2013, fourteen quarterbacks passed for

Quarterback Rankings – Top 40 QBs for 2014

Josh Gordon will be suspended for the entire season

The year long suspension for Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon has been upheld per multiple media reports. The potential for a reduced suspension seemed somewhat realistic with a delay in decision on his appeal. The Browns offense will take a huge hit without him. Owners in dynasty leagues may want to make a move for Gordon who has number one wide receiver upside. The price will never be lower than after with this news.

Brian Hoyer named starter over Johnny Manziel

The Cleveland Browns have named Brain Hoyer their starting quarterback for week one. This may or may not be a shock to everyone. Johnny Manziel will likely start at some point this season. When that it happens depends on how well Hoyer and the Browns do to begin the season. Hoyer helped Josh Gordon and Jordan Cameron be fantasy stars last season. Manziel taking over shouldn’t hurt the pass catchers in this offense.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Charles Sims will undergo Surgery

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers Charles Sims will undergo surgery on the ankle he injured in practice. Sims is expected to be out for 12-14 weeks. This should be good news for Doug Martin owners, as Sims seemed the likely contender to carries in Tampa Bay. Bobby Rainey, Mike James and Jeff Demps are all vying for carries as well. Sims could be a worth add from the waiver wire depending on how the early part of the season goes.
