Twitter Questions Answered!

I wanted to get some intriguing questions from my twitter followers, and of course the people that asked them are the ones I frequently interact with on twitter and are some of the best follows for fantasy football. If you don’t follow these guys, make sure you go out and follow them right now! Thanks Salty, Greg, Kenny, Marc, Ty and Trey!

Is it possible for Dez Bryant to be the #1 WR this year? – @Saltydawg_55

I think anything is possible, but I can’t say he will be #1 because Megatron is just too good. That being said, Dez is really set up nicely to have a great year and showed his talent and potential during the 2nd half of last season. From weeks 10-16 last year, he had 50 receptions for 808 yards and 10 TDs. Over that span he was the #2 WR in standard and #3 in PPR – behind Megatron in standard and behind Megatron and Andre Johnson in PPR. I guess to answer your question, its possible but I don’t see anyone beating Calvin Johnson this year. If Megatron doesn’t finish #1, I would say Dez could be the guy that does it, but you also have to consider AJ Green, Brandon Marshall and even Julio Jones in his 3rd year. Continue reading

A Tale of Two Mocks: Two vs One QB Drafts

Ever looked at your roster and had Christian Ponder? Probably not right? Ever had to start him because he is your second best option? That’s where I’m at (if this were an actual team) and I think I would rather have Kevin Kolb play QB for me….wait I have him too, damn!. If you don’t want to end up like me in this recent 2QB mock draft, then you should probably read the rest of this article. If you’re smart enough to not end up like that, well good for you and just read anyways.

I’ve never done a 2QB mock, let alone be involved in an actual 2QB league, but I know its an interesting format and lots of people are involved in them. I somehow got stuck with the first pick, and quickly was unsure of what to do with that pick. Do I go AP? Do I grab a top QB? What will the rest of my positions look like if I go QB here? What will my QBs look like if I pick AP? (I found out very quickly that they are uglier than something one of Adam’s kids would throw up). Continue reading

2013 Marques Colston Preview: The Quiet Storm To The Top 10

Marques Colston’s nickname is The Quiet Storm, and why is that you might ask? Well have you ever heard him make comments to the media? Have you heard him do a press conference? Have you ever heard the guy speak?! I’m a huge Saints fan and I can honestly say I have only heard him speak once, and that was because I went looking to see him speak in a press conference that I found on neworleanssaints.com. As a wide receiver, Colston is unusual in the sense that he is very quiet and reserved; basically the antithesis of the majority of receivers in the NFL.

Enough about his personality and onto the topic at hand. With Colston being quiet and out of the media could he be overlooked and perhaps under the radar? Personally, I think so. As he was snubbed from the NFL Top 100, I started to understand why my fellow writers here at www.FakePigskin.com encouraged me to write about him and his lack of love from the fantasy community. Call me a homer if you want (@ReganFP is higher on him than me) but I think Colston is a solid WR2 with definite WR1 potential and I’m here to tell you the reasons why. Continue reading
