NFL 2021: Week 6 IDP Put In and Play Streamers

This week starts the bye weeks for the NFL.  The teams on a bye are: Atlanta Falcons, New Orleans Saints, New York Jets and San Francisco Niners.  And as we all know, there sits some quality IDP talent.

Here are a few players that can fill in this week and beyond.

DEFENSIVE LINE

GREG ROUSSEAU, DEFENSIVE END, BUFFALO BILLS

It is hard to imagine the player just named AFC Defensive Player of the Week is still available, but he is. Rousseau, per fantasypros.com, is just rostered on five percent of Yahoo leagues.  What!

Rousseau leads the Bills with three sacks on the season.  Last week against the Kansas City Chiefs, he had five tackles, one sack, and an interception.

Do you need more? This week the Bills will take on the Tennessee Titans, and the Titans have the third-worst Adjusted Sack Rate.  Quarterback, Ryan Tannehill, has been sacked 20 times, has three interceptions and three fumbles.

Rousseau should be rostered, not just for this week, but for your season.

YANNICK NGAKOUE, DEFENSIVE END, LAS VEGAS RAIDERS, ROSTERED 3%

Up until now, it has been hard to stomach putting Ngakoue on your roster.  Luckily, just in time for bye weeks, he has given us a reason to trust him for at least this week.

Last week in the loss to the Chicago Bears, Ngakoue had three tackles and two sacks.  Certainly not eye-popping, but definitely trending in the right direction for the match-up with the Denver Broncos.

Yes, this will be a harder test than Chicago.  Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater has only been sacked 11 times and has thrown one interception.

But this is exactly what the former Pro-Bowler was brought in to do, chase quarterbacks.

LINEBACKERS

CHRISTIAN KIRKSEY, HOUSTON TEXANS, ROSTERED 13%

Sometimes as fantasy football managers, we shy away from players on bad teams.  In IDP, it should be exactly the opposite.

The Texans defense spend 54.92% of game time on the field (27th ranked).

Kirksey has made the most of his on-field time with consistency.  He has had seven tackles, four tackles, and six tackles in the last three weeks, respectively.

This week, the Texans meet the Colts, whose average time of possession is 32:13, with 41.18% of that time spent on rushing plays.

Kirksey should remain steadfastly solid for your IDP lineup.

MATT JUDON, NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS, ROSTERED 8%

Judon is currently second in sacks.  Last week against the Houston Texans, he had four tackles, two sacks, and one fumble recovery, and it wasn’t an aberration.  In his last two games before, he collected 6 tackles and 3.5 sacks.

This week, the Patriots will play the Dallas Cowboys.  Quarterback, Dax Prescott, has been sacked only eight times this season, and he has accounted for five fumbles and tossed in three interceptions.

Temper your Judon expectations for Week 6 because, in Week 7, you will be rewarded for your diligence and patience.

@MonkeyKnifeFight.com, you can wager on whether Dak Prescott gets more or less 279.5 passing yards.

Or whether Prescott gets more of less than 21.5 fantasy points for the day.

Both outcomes Judon might have a say in.

DEFENSIVE BACKS

QUANDRE DIGGS, SEATTLE SEAHAWKS, ROSTERED 6.7%

Although Jamal Adams is the better-known name in the Seattle secondary, Diggs is currently the better acquisition for your fantasy team.

STATS COMPARISON:

ADAMS: 37 tackles, 1 pass defended

DIGGS: 36 tackles, 2 interceptions, 3 passes defended

And with the Pittsburgh Steelers, New Orleans Saints, and Jacksonville Jaguars’ next three teams up, acquiring Diggs now is a must.

Ben Roethlisberger has tossed four interceptions, Jameis Winston has thrown three, and Trevor Lawrence has thrown eight.

JANORIS JENKINS, TENNESSEE TITANS, ROSTERED 6%

Jenkins’s stats are a little lackluster, having only seven combined tackles in the last three games.  But he is on the field for 97% of the snap share, and in Week 6, the Titans will play the Buffalo Bills.

The Bills are currently giving up the most points to opposing Cornerbacks, so this is Jenkins time.

With the bye weeks and injuries, it is time to do your due diligence.  Check not only the waiver wire but also look for those gems sitting on your bench.
