2020 PPR Rankings with Player Uncertainty Levels

This Table includes:

  • Team
  • Bye Week
  • Position Rankings
  • Position
  • Overall Name
  • Fantasy Sport’s Professor’s Rankings (Scale of 100 to 0-Green to Red)
  • Uncertainty Level of High, Average or Low

The DST and Kickers from LAC are on the fringe for drafting in 2020. They both carry uncertainty levels.

QB and RBs

LAC loses Rivers and a new era begins. However, the 2 QBs in place are weak sauce and I rank then at 29 and 34th QB with high uncertainty. I am unsure of passing levels for the TE and WRs. Taylor figures as the first QB out of the gate and in 2017 he did produce 2800 passing yards and 3rd best QB rushing yds. He could surprise if you think he could get back to his class level then he is steal for you at QB2 type (streamer candidate?).

The RBs are Ekeler at RB9, Jackson at 54RB and Kelly at 55RB. It seems that Ekeler should be the show with the others have to fight for roles in this crew. Short yard RBs for sure are Jackson’s domain. Kelly remains unknown with both have high uncertainty levels. Kelly in his defense has nice college stats (1000 yds and 13 TDs) and could end up taking over the backfield but maybe later season. Best Ball ZERO RB target for me.

TE and WRs

Henry the TE could be the best choice for Taylor in short yards/red zone activity.  I have him at TE8th with low uncertainty. His upside depends on the QB production.

The WRs have Allen leading ranked at WR19 and then M Williams at WR51st ranking at average uncertainty. Unclear who is WR3? It seems that Allen and Williams will regress. Buy at cheap price of ADP value. The team has alot to prove in 2020.

2016 to 2019 Positional Based PPR Fantasy Point Averages (FPA), Team Usages, and Differences from 2019 to 4-year Averages

This table presents:

  • Team
  • Position
  • 2016 to 2019 Fantasy Point Averages
  • 4 Year Sum of Averages
  • % of Positional Usage by the 4-Year Date
  • % of 2019 Team Usages
  • DIFF – 2019 vs last 4-year % Usages (Improving or Declining)

LOS ANGELES CHARGERS – Professor’s NFL Team Flash Card.  LAC had a good season for QB with an increase in QB usage by 2.4% but Rivers has moved onward, and caution is suggested in 2020. Also, the RBs were strong with +5.3% usage but also being the tops within the last 4 years. Gordon was moved on as well but Eckler will be fed and he is the obvious draft choice. Note that the TEs were down by -1.5% but for 2020 a new QB might lean on TE Henry and he could see an uptick upside. The WRs besides Allen figure to lose ground. They lost -6.1% in 2019 and were the worst in the last 4 years. Caution for the LAC WRs in 2020.

2015 to 2019 Team Level Targets Per Game, 2019 Usage, 5 Year of Targets/Game Usage, and DIFF in 2019.

This table contains:

  • Team
  • Position
  • 2015 to 2019 Targets Per Game
  • 5 Year Average of Targets Per Game
  • %2019 Usages in Targeting
  • % 5-Year Positional Usage Average
  • DIFF 2019 vs 5-Year Average of Team Positional Usages

LOS ANGELES CHARGERS – Professor’s NFL Team Flash Card.  Overall Comments: 2019 saw the LAC go all in to their RBs and TE as the pass catchers at +4.8 and +1.9% increases in targets per game metrics. The level of use at 32 and 31% are very high and can be expected to continue in 2020.

The RBs are Austin Ekeler RB9,  Justin Jackson RB54, and Joshua Kelley RB55. Given the usages, Jackson and Kelly have draft appeal later in the drafts for redraft PPR and best ball. Ekeler could have a strong 2020 than 2019 given the new QB situation. Kelly is a deep sleeper in 2020.

The TE show is Hunter Henry TE8 and he is a nice play in 2020 drafts at a lower ADP. Finally, the WRs usages were down from 43% to 36% usages in T/G and that limits the upside of Keenan Allen WR19 and Mike Williams WR51. Look for value in 2020 only or pass.
