Time to Shine or Ride the Pine: Week 17 Start or Sit

Merry belated Christmas and congrats to those who won championships this past week. If you’re reading this weeks article I’m sorry your league still plays until the last week. It’s been a pleasure during this inaugural season but before taking an off-season break, here is the Week 17 Start or Sit, for all of you still playing.

Running backs who will shine

Rod Smith ([email protected]NYG 1pm est)

The Cowboys have zero to play for after clinching the number four seed in the playoffs, and have no reason to play Zeke and company. Even if Dallas pulls its starters early or sits them, the running game will be serviceable enough for Smith to prosper.

Prediction: 15 car 72 yards 1 td, 4 rec 23 yards: 17.5 pts

CJ Anderson (SF@LAR 4:25pm est)

Having finally found a spot to run, literally, CJ will more than likely head the backfield in Week 17.

Prediction: 18 car 84 yards 1 td, 2 rec 14 yards: 16.8 pts

Nyheim Hines ([email protected]Ten SNF 8:20pm est)

Prediction: 6 car 28 yards, 6 rec 61 yards 1 td: 17.9 pts

Put a splinter in their backsides

Ezekiel Elliot (Dal@NYG 1pm est)

Prediction: May not even play

Nick Chubb (Cle@Bal 4:25pm est)

Prediction: 14 car 61 yards, 3 rec 14 yards: 9 pts

Jordan Howard ([email protected]Min 4:25pm est)

Prediction: 12 car 40 yards: 4 pts

Wide Receivers/TE in the spotlight

Kelvin Benjamin ([email protected]KC 1pm est)

This game could get ugly quick, allowing KC to rest some stars. Kelvin can find the end zone during a blowout.

Prediction: 3 rec 42 yards 1 td: 11.7 pts

Ted Gin Jr. (Car@NO 1pm est)

Another game where starters may be resting, Ted Gin could get extra playing time while working his back into game shape.

Prediction: 4 rec 76 yards 1 td: 15.6 pts

Davante Adams ([email protected]GB 1pm est)

He is only 2 receptions and 133 yards from breaking two Packers single season records. Rodgers will force feed Adams in an attempt to get him those records.

Prediction: 9 rec 134 yards 2 td: 31.9 pts

Splinter Time

Panthers Receivers (Car@NO 1pm est)

Prediction: None worth risking in a championship

Jaguars Receivers ([email protected]Hou 1pm est)

Prediction: They’re just a bad team

Alshon Jeffrey (Phi@Wash 4:25pm est)

Expect Josh Norman to shadow Alshon most of the day and try to salvage something good out of a disappointing season for the Redskins.

Prediction: 4 rec 62 yards: 8.2 pts
