If you need a College Football DFS appetizer before Sunday, I will be posting my DraftKings targets each week here for the early 10 game slate. Last week, I returned great value with Qadree Ollison and Kalija Lipscomb. But enough about how great I was last week. All that matters now is the Week 4 slate, and here are the Vegas odds (favorites in bold) for the 10 games included in the early DK contest.

I tend to target games with close lines, and high totals that project as high scoring contests, with scoring from both teams. For this reason, and because of a quarterback switch (more on that below), I’ll be looking to include several Boston College and Purdue players starting with my new favorite player to watch in any sport.
WR Purdue Rondale Moore $6,900
If you’ve been playing the college games at all this season, then you probably know this freshman sensation by now. Moore completely stole the show in the nationally televised opener against Northwestern last month with a whopping 11 catches, 109 yards, one touchdown, and another 76 yard rush for a score. After a Week 2 snoozer against Eastern Michigan, Moore lit up Missouri’s defense with another 11 grabs for 139 yards, and a score last week. Through just his third college game, it is clear Moore is a star, and the focal point of the Purdue offense. An offense that might be ready to take off with what should be more stability at quarterback.

In case you missed it, prior to last week, Purdue head coach Jeff Brohm had been running one of those awful two quarterback rotations that never work. Last Saturday, while co-starter Elijah Sindelar sat out with an injury, his counter part David Blough set the school record for passing yards, proving once again that the two-quarterback system is about as effective as the Sam Bradford one-quarterback system. Assuming Brohm isn’t a completely horrible coach, he should hide Sindelar’s helmet, or possibly have security remove him from the stadium, keeping Blough under center full-time moving forward, giving Moore and the entire offense a much higher upside. Coach Brohm, if you don’t want to hear about opening this thing up from me, take it from Lt. Daniel Kaffee…
Just like Moore, Pitt running back Qadree Ollison is at his season high DK price this week, and both are still undervalued with such feature roles in their respective offenses. This may be the last week either remains under 7k for the rest of the season. Oh, and don’t sleep on Boston College’s NFL caliber tight end Tommy Sweeney here at a great price 😉
WR Clemson Justyn Ross $3,600
Along with Moore, another highly touted, uber talented freshman receiver is this guy at Clemson. After all the offseason hype, and head turning grabs like this in practice, the 6’4″ Ross dropped this dime last week for his second touchdown in as many games as a Tiger…
How many times did the patented Chris Berman “waaaaaaooppp!” go through your head when watching that play? Keep in mind, that was with the first unit in the second quarter, albeit against the University of College Tech St, but it’s clear Ross does not need to be brought along slowly, and will only be more involved in the weeks to come, providing a seemingly reasonable floor. At this price, all he needs is one play to return value, kind of like this next young house caller…
RB Kansas Pooka Williams Jr. $5,700
I swear, I’m not trying to spew hot fire about every freshman sensation. I just go where the value takes me. Plus, I had to stop scrolling in my app when I saw a name like Pooka. I’m sure glad I did because I discovered that Williams Jr. is the clear feature back entering this week after piling up 283 yards with three touchdowns on 32 carries the last two weeks, in what might be–dare I say–a decent Kansas offense. Next up, an average-at-best Baylor defense that just allowed Duke running backs to average six yards per carry in a 40-27 home loss. Just like his picture above, I think Pooka gonna eat Saturday, and I’ll be dining with him.
RB Notre Dame Tony Jones Jr. $5,600
While questions at quarterback are all the rage after the Irish’s third game of the season, there isn’t much debate about who should be carrying the rock in Notre Dame’s backfield. In last weekend’s close win over Vanderbilt, the junior tailback appeared to separate himself from sophomore teammate Jafar Armstrong, with a 17 carry, 118 yard performance, compared to Armstrong’s 64 yards on just 11 rushes. Jones Jr., also led the team in receiving yards with 56 on two catches that day, in what was by far his best game of his college career.
This week, he’s matched up against a Wake Forest front-seven, still licking it’s wounds from the bludgeoning given to them by dark horse Heisman hopeful A.J. Dillon’s 33 carry, 185 yard performance last weekend. Considering that, and last season’s game when the Irish ran roughshod over the Deamon Deacon’s front all day, Jones Jr. has a great opportunity to follow up his breakout game with another hit, the way Michael followed Thriller with Bad. When he does, I’ll know I am witnessing true DFS greatness, when I look at the man in the mirror with no reason to change his ways.
