2016 IDP ROOKIES (LB) RANKINGS
-
Updated: June 12, 2016

We’re well into some 2016 IDP rookie drafts and hearing a lot of rookies who look good (no pads & it’s only June), but there can be some positives taken away from that as it helps build confidence for rookies entering training camp (where it all begins).
Here is an updated version of my IDP Rookie linebacker rankings as of June 12th, 2016.
| RANK | PLAYER | TEAM | QUICK HITS |
| 1 | MYLES JACK | JAC | believe his talent, believe in him – injuries happen |
| 2 | REGGIE RAGLAND | BUF | strong believer he’ll be a 3-down LB in BUF, Rag gonna eat! |
| 3 | DARRON LEE | NYJ | sub package LB (for now) role will grow, have no problem if he’s taken after Myles too |
| 4 | JOSHUA PERRY | SDC | wrote bout em & believe he’ll find his way on the field and beat out Te’o for starting spot next to Perryman |
| 5 | JAYLON SMITH | DAL | if you have a taxi squad, use your 3rd round pick on him |
| 6 | DEION JONES | ATL | battling for the MLB spot, if ATL wants to go young & athletic, Jones should be the starter & say bye to Worrilow |
| 7 | ANTONIO MORRISON | IND | coaches love em, Irving/Moore isn’t a confident duo |
| 8 | BJ GOODSON | NYG | the future could be now, may sneak into off-season as starting MLB IF Keenan moves to WIL |
| 9 | LEONARD FLOYD | CHI | CHI needs playmakers on defense, Floyd can be that |
| 10 | BLAKE MARTINEZ | GBP | little depth in GBP at ILB, should be favored to start but nothing to be that excited about, decent floor |
| 11 | DE’VONDRE CAMPBELL | ATL | making noise right now, if momentum keeps up ATL may have found their WLB, value will continue to rise better get him cheap now |
| 12 | KENTRELL BROTHERS | MIN | draft & stash, future WLB for MIN but tough to see him as an every down LB with Barr/Kendricks there |
| 13 | EMMANUEL OGBAH | CLE | CLE envisions him as an every down edge, that’s a positive & his skill should translate as an OLB |
| 14 | SHAQ LAWSON | BUF | think he’ll get DE tag in the future which will boost his IDP value, for now he’s worth a grab in big play type leagues |
| 15 | JORDAN JENKINS | NYJ | as the off-season progresses on I’m digging Jenkins more, has that impact he can bring on the edge for NYJ can become their replacemet for Pace |
| 16 | TRAVIS FEENEY | PIT | versatile skillset, needs time to develop though – positive is PIT is lining him up inside & outside, bright future ahead – taxi squad worthy with your 5th-7th round pick |
| 17 | SHILIQUE CALHOUN | OAK | disliked he got the LB tag, but if Mario has any setbacks he could move to DE (crossing fingers), underrated pass rusher to me though |
| 18 | TYLER MATAKEVICH | PIT | Timmons replacement? that’s what i’m banking on, draft – stash – be patient |
| 19 | KEVIN DODD | TEN | going to be in a rotation, is solid against the run so should get some early down play, deep league type target |
| 20 | JOE SCHOBERT | CLE | transitions to a 3-4 ILB in CLE, love his energy & ability to attack, can start over Demario down the road |
| 21 | JEREMY CASH | CAR | dislike the LB tag, interesting thing is if he pans out at LB – could replace Davis in the future |
| 22 | SCOOBY WRIGHT | CLE | can become a sneaky late round target to see if he pans out, see how the off-season progresses |
| 23 | JATAVIS BROWN | SDC | there’s a chance he becomes SDC’s version of a hybrid (LB/S) |
| 24 | KAMALEI CORRERA | BAL | the future edge rusher in BAL, needs some work but can bring the heat – learning from Suggs/Dumervil will only help |
| 25 | NICK VIGIL | CIN | deep league – deeeeeeep roster type, if your taxi squad can hold up to 5 guys, he’s worth the last spot |
| 26 | KYLER FACKRELL | GBP | eventual replacement for never aging Peppers? decent edge against the run & piled up tackles in college |
| 27 | ELANDON ROBERTS | NEP | seems NEP’s always gets injury problems at LB, no more than a depth piece but keep eye on em |
| 28 | ERIC STRIKER | BUF | he’s motivated, has a chip on his shoulder – can only help him make noise! |
| 29 | JOSH FORREST | RAM | should backup Ogletree & squeeze in some time – decent dynasty buy though |
| 30 | DADI NICOLAS | KCC | want to see how KCC uses him |

You mentioned John timu. Where do you seem him long term? Should I keep him on my roster or cut him?

Timu is worthy of a roster spot if this is a deep league (big rosters) and you an afford to sit & stash him, with addition of Trevathan & Freeman, he may not get shot again until ’17 at the earliest but if you mix in Timu with these rookie LB’s I’d put him at 14 right behind Scooby – so you won’t lose sleep if you drop him, very replaceable

Just curious if you will be doing a list like this soon for DBs? I didn’t see one posted yet.
