2016 IDP DYNASTY LB TIERS
-
Updated: May 22, 2016

Here are my early 2016 Dynasty LB Tiers; there’s a lot of depth to be had but as long as you can acquire 1-2 from the first 3 tiers you’ll be in good hands. There’ll be a bunch of breakouts and those whose potential will be blazing in 2016, this is also a good time to stockpile as much rookie LB’s as you can afford to (this is where leagues with taxi squads have value) because there’s a ton of talent there but many of them won’t have much impact until 2017.
TIER 01:
- Jamie Collins (Patriots) in ranks, Collins is clear cut my #1
- Luke Kuechly (Panthers)
- Telvin Smith (Jaguars)
- CJ Mosley (Ravens) bout to lead the league in tackles
- Navorro Bowman (49ers)
- Lavonte David (Bucs)
- Sean Lee (Cowboys)
- Alec Ogletree (Rams) move to middle should provide more opportunities to rack up tackles
TIER 02:
- Deone Bucannon (Cardinals) the hybrid trend setter, so close to tier 1 not even joking
- Kwon Alexander (Bucs)
- Brandon Marshall (Broncos) being slept on right now, buy him where you can
- Derrick Johnson (Chiefs) prob 2 years at the most with top production
- Jordan Hicks (Eagles) believe with me on Hicks like I told you with Collins
- Eric Kendricks (Vikings)
- DeAndre Levy (Lions) lets put 2015 behind us & hope Levy comes back strong!
- Khalil Mack (Raiders) bout to lead the league with sacks (20)
- Danny Trevathan (Bears) has Freeman to compete with but there’ll be enough to go around
- Bobby Wagner (Seahawks)
- Vontaze Burfict (Bengals) bonehead for sure but can’t deny his IDP production
TIER 03:
- Mark Barron (Rams) I need to see how Ogletree & Barron mesh together first
- KJ Wright (Seahawks)
- Mychal Kendricks (Eagles) move to WLB won’t hurt numbers, needs to stay healthy tho!
- Ryan Shazier (Steelers)
- Denzel Perryman (Chargers)
- Myles Jack (Jaguars) have no doubt he’ll become an every down LB in no time
- Reggie Ragland (Bills) so be piling up tackles right out the gate
- D’Qwell Jackson (Colts)
- Thomas Davis (Panthers)
- Jaylon Smith (Cowboys) once he’s healthy, he’ll be the man for DAL
- Karlos Dansby (Bengals)
- Jerrell Freeman (Bears) there’ll be enough tackles to go around, LB2 value
- Darron Lee (Jets) will see field a lot for NYJ, can’t go wrong with either rookie LB in this tier
- Anthony Barr (Vikings) good too see him get recognition, he’s a stud on the rise
TIER 04:
- Benardrick McKinney (Texans) time for Cushing to take a backseat, lot of tackle opps for McKinney
- Lawrence Timmons (Steelers)
- Avery Williamson (Titans) once again he’s undervalued, I expect an even better year in ’16
- Rolando McClain (Cowboys) revived career in DAL, should continue to man the middle 1 more year
- Justin Houston (Chiefs) might have to chalk up ’16 as injury riddled but solid dynasty asset still
- Joshua Perry (Chargers) my “kwon” for 2016, I believe he’ll beat out Te’o for starting job!
- Paul Posluszny (Jaguars) last year of top production IMO
- Deion Jones (Falcons) ATL LB unit needs his speed, should beat out Worrilow
- Christian Kirksey (Browns) no Dansby, no Robertson – show is yours Kirk!
- Stephone Anthony (Saints) move to SLB is a bummer but remains a LB2 dynasty buy
- Preston Brown (Bills)
- Keenan Robinson (Giants) he shall be the starting MLB for NYG by week 1!
TIER 05:
-
Jelani Jenkins (Dolphins) - Kiko Alonso (Dolphins) his career probably takes a turn but i’m not taking a chance
- Demario Davis (Browns)
- Nigel Bradham (Eagles) loses some value with move to PHI but I’d still roster for my LB3 /4
- Chandler Jones (Cardinals) think he’ll sustain a LB3 type value, piles up tackles in bunches too
- Vic Beasley (Falcons) could mirror Bruce Irvin’s numbers in SEA with a little more added
- Bruce Irvin (Raiders) career year ahead for the new Raider
- Ryan Kerrigan (Redskins) think he returns to ’14 form
- Kentrell Brothers (Vikings) dynasty stash, future OLB for MIN
- Shaq Thompson (Panthers) will have every chance to lock down the WLB spot
- Ben Heeney (Raiders) has Neiron to compete with but should hold him off
- Donta Hightower (Patriots)
- Nate Irving (Colts) will compete with Sio for starting ILB spot vacated by Freeman, sneaky target
- Wesley Woodyard (Titans) continues to pop up here and there with some good weeks
- Ramik Wilson (Chiefs) the future ILB for KCC will begin in ’16
- Paul Worrilow (Falcons)
- Tahir Whitehead (Lions) locking down the MLB job, could have some solid value
- Will Compton (Redskins)
- Sio Moore (Colts) he gives IND a pass rusher from the ILB position
TIER 06:
- Von Miller (Broncos)
- Jake Ryan (Packers)
- James Laurinaitis (Saints)
- Brian Cushing (Texans)
- Melvin Ingram (Chargers) will he maintain his 2015 season?
- Tamba Hali (Chiefs) should be a beast early on with no Houston
- Preston Smith (Redskins) bout to wreck shit up in his sophomore season
- Kevin Pierre-Louis (Seahawks) will take Irvin’s spot, 2-down for now but has talent to succeed
- Lorenzo Mauldin (Jets) has inside track on being an every down LB, sleeper alert!
- Antonio Morrison (Colts) the future starting ILB in IND
- Leonard Floyd (Bears)
- Pernell McPhee (Bears)
- Shaq Barrett (Broncos)
- Markus Golden (Cardinals) breakout year ahead
- Shaq Lawson (Bills) watch him get the DE tag sooner than later because .. duh!
- Whitney Mercilus (Texans) superb ’15 campaign should keep it up, has improved each season
- Za’Darius Smith (Ravens)
- BJ Goodson (Giants) good dynasty stash, starter MLB in ’17
- Vincent Rey (Bengals)
- Sean Weatherspoon (Falcons) career revival back where it started
- Devon Kennard (Giants) will Spags actually use him this year?
- Clay Matthews (Packers)
- Kevin Minter (Cardinals)
- Jerry Hughes (Bills)
- Aaron Lynch (49ers)
- David Harris (Jets)
TIER 07:
- Daryl Smith (Bucs)
- Nick Kwiatkoski (Bears) another good dynasty stash, future starter at ILB
- Jeremiah Attaochu (Chargers)
- Blake Martinez (Packers) may surprise early on given GBP lack of ILB depth
- Neiron Ball (Raiders)
- Paul Dawson (Bengals) patiently waiting, maybe.
- Dee Ford (Chiefs)
- Kevin Dodd (Titans)
- Derrick Morgan (Titans)
- Dannell Ellerbe (Saints)
- Emmanuel Ogbah (Browns) believing more and more he’ll do just fine at OLB, could rise a tier
- Perry Riley (Redskins)
- Gerald Hodges (49ers)
- Kamalei Correra (Ravens) pass rushing specialist
- Terrell Suggs (Ravens)
- Jordan Jenkins (Jets) should be NYJ 3rd down pass rushing specialist
- Jadeveon Clowney (Texans) …. buffering …
- John Timu (Bears)
- Sean Spence (Titans) could compete with Woodyard for starting ILB job next to Avery
- Christian Jones (Bears)
- Kyle Emanuel (Chargers)
- Joe Schobert (Browns) dynasty stash as he learns the ILB spot
- Tyler Matakevich (Steelers) Timmon’s replacement in a year or two
- Jonathan Casillas (Giants)
- Koa Misi (Dolphins)
- DeMarcus Ware (Broncos)
- Stephon Tulloch (Lions)
- Bud Dupree (Steelers) HAS to show improvement in ’16
- Rey Maualuga (Bengals)
- Jatavis Brown (Chargers) dislike landing spot for IDP purposes but still buying & stashing!
- Scooby Wright (Browns) perfect for the taxi squad
- Courtney Upshaw (Falcons)
- Jonathan Orr (Ravens)
- Junior Galette (Redskins)
- Mason Foster (Redskins)
- Zach Brown (Bills) until Ragland got drafted i was a little excited on his landing spot, now – meh
- DJ Alexander (Chiefs)
TIER 08:
- Chad Greenway (Vikings)
- Manti Te’o (Chargers) loses his job to Perry
- Nick Vigil (Bengals)
- Michael Whilhoite (49ers)
- Travis Feeney (Steelers) will take time to develop & learn PIT’s scheme, has talent tho!
