NBA DFS PLAYBOOK, March 2nd
Monday gives us a tidy 5 game schedule to choose from. Let’s take a look at some selections for tonight. ( Player salaries come from DraftKings (DK))
TORONTO (-9.5, 193) @ PHILADELPHIA:

FOR THE RICH:
Pass- nobody here qualifies tonight IMO, if forced to pick, take a stab at Demar DeRozan ($7000) to bust out of his slump in a plus matchup.
Nerlens Noel ($6200)- Nagging injuries a slight concern, but has played 30+ minutes in eight straight games. His boards plus blocks and steals always add up, any points scored could always lead to monster DFS nights.
Greivis Vasquez ($4200)- Kyle Lowry is supposed to sit once again tonight leaving the ex-Terp a starting gig. Played 34 minutes in that role Saturday, and put up 27.25 DK points.
Lou Williams ($4300)- Again, with Lowry out, Sweet Lou should see some extra court time. Very capable scorer who could go off any night. A definite GPP option.
Fantasy just got a whole lot better thanks to Monkey Knife Fight. With fast-paced games like Rapid Fire and Either/Or, it’s never been easier to play fantasy and win. New to MKF? Get Exclusive $100 Deposit Match + Free $5 Game
Ish Smith ($3000)- If really looking to save salary, Smith has seen 26 and 25 minutes in the 76ers last two, and seems to be more of a true PG than Isaiah Caanan. six to eight times his value is a definite possibility.
PHOENIX @ MIAMI (-1.5, 206):
FOR THE RICH:
Eric Bledsoe ($8600)- A triple double threat, Bledsoe comes off one of his (and Phoenix’s) worst performances of the season. Brandon Knight looks doubtful tonight, meaning plenty of usage for Bledsoe in what’s expected to be a tight, high scoring game.
EDIT: Looks like Knight will play, still like Bledsoe though
Hassan Whiteside ($8200)- You could almost pencil in a double double for him nightly barring foul trouble. 24 boards his last time out. Will be a popular pick tonight (I prefer DeAndre Jordan for $700 more)
Dwyane Wade ($6900)- At a price point where you need to consider rostering him. Goran Dragic is iffy tonight with a back injury which would drive up Wade’s usage.
Mario Chalmers ($4500)- If Dragic sits, Chalmers should slide back into the starting PG slot. Put up 35.25 DK points his last time out, helped out greatly by 5 steals. Inconsistent even when given minutes, worth a look in GPP’s. For cash, prefer Vasquez at similar price point.
Henry Walker ($3600)- The artist formerly known as Bill Walker was given a start the other night. Has not been bashful of shooting since coming to the Heat, hoisting up 42 shots over the last three games (including 30 from trey range).
GOLDEN STATE (-6.5, 208.5) @ BROOKLYN:
FOR THE RICH:
Steph Curry ($9800)- Does he seem like a steal under the 10K mark ? Second half of back-to-back for Warriors as they conclude a six game road trip. Hopefully that shouldn’t hinder Curry, and could actually lead to a closer game. A top PG option (duh).
Draymond Green ($6800)- Getting back to putting up the big numbers he did earlier in season, Green how has three straight 40+ DK point efforts and his price hasn’t caught back up yet. The Nets are near the bottom against PF. Main concern is played 44 minutes yesterday.
Markel Brown ($4000)- One of my favorite college players to watch last year at Oklahoma St. it’s good to seen Brown get some run lately. He did see his minutes dip to 21 last game out with Bojan Bogdanovic returning, after seeing 35, 30, and 45 in his previous three. Nets may need to play the more athletic Brown tonight against the high tempo Warriors.
LA CLIPPERS (-5, 206.5) @ MINNESOTA:
FOR THE RICH:
Chris Paul ($9900)- Second half of a road back to back is a bit of a flag here, but CP3 should be immune to that. Only two times in his last ten has he failed to crack 45 DK points. Neck and neck with Curry as top PG play.
DeAndre Jordan ($8900)- Averaging a ridiculous 20.5 rebounds over his last eight games, with five games of 50+ DK points in that stretch ( and just missed with 49 yesterday). I don’t think you can afford to keep him out of your lineup on a short slate like tonight.
Ricky Rubio ($7600)- Normally PG’s at this price are tough to recommend going against CP3, but Rubio has just been on fire lately. Averaging close to 42 DK PPG since the all star break, while back to logging 37-42 minutes in four of five contests. Kevin Martin is questionable tonight which could lead more scoring responsibilities to Rubio.
Andrew Wiggins ($6400)- I’ve been off Wiggins for a while now, but with Martin possibly out tonight (and Pekovic as well) , Wiggins should see his usage really surge. He averaged almost 39 minutes per game in February. Minnesota team total is 100, Wiggins should go for 20+ at the minimum.
Gorgui Dieng ($5100)- Dieng averaged 10.5 points, 8.6 boards and almost 2 blocks a game when Nikola Pekovic was sidelined from mid-November to mid-January. If Pek sits tonight, Dieng could be a fine value play ( although Flip probably still won’t start him)
Don’t love anything too much here. Would like to see a follow thru for Spencer Hawes ($3600) who had 35.25 yesterday vs. Chicago.
NEW ORLEANS @ DALLAS (-7.5, 197.5):
FOR THE RICH:
Tyreke Evans ($7700)- With no Anthony Davis or Ryan Anderson, this will remain Evans’s show for the time being. Has averaged a very consistent 40+ DK points over his last four ( 40.5, 43, 38.75, 40.75).
Nobody here I’m too thrilled with. Dirk Nowitzki ($6200) could see some extra shots with no Chandler Parsons, and maybe some available boards with no Tyson Chandler.
Omer Asik ($4900)- Asik has grabbed double digit boards in four straight, including 2 double doubles. With no Tyson Chandler to battle down low, and no Anthony Davis on his own side, he should make it five straight.
Al-Farouq Aminu ($4800)- Richard Jefferson will start again in place of Chandler Parsons, but Aminu should see somewhere around 25-28 minutes. Very inconsistent, and more of a GPP play, Aminu always could help his DFS night with some steals and blocks.
Dante Cunningham ($3400)- A Monty Williams flavor of the moment, Cunningham now has put up 28.75, 29 and 28.75 DK points in his last three while playing 33, 38, then 40 minutes. Tough to argue that type of production for that salary.
“FOR THE RICH “is $7000+ salary
“MIDDLE CLASS” is $5000-$6900 salary
“DISCOUNT RACK” is $3000-$4900 salary
