Monster Energy Supercross: Week Two Phoenix

Fantasy Supercross

Welcome to Week Two of our Monster Energy Supercross fantasy league coverage. For both of you reading this, if you are still in the dark from last week, our friends at Rocky Mountain ATV/MC are running a fantasy Supercross league following the Monster Energy Supercross 17 week season. It’s absolutely free and winners can walk away with many prizes up to and including a fully decked out race-ready dirt bike courtesy of Suzuki!

Last week in Anaheim saw Ken Roczen absolutely dominate the final en route to his second straight A1(Anaheim race #1, there are 3 stops there during the season) win. Other guys I recommended that were Top-5 were Trey Canard(3rd), Ryan Dungey(4th), Andrew Short(5th) and my surprises were Chad Reed, whom I figured would be an easy Top-5, finishing in 10th(the Wild Card), and Jason Anderson coming out of nowhere for an easy 2nd place finish. That’s the beauty of Supercross, there are always a few surprises each race. In my own picks, I managed to get Roczen and Dungey correct, with Canard finishing one spot behind my prediction. Unfortunately that wasn’t enough to win one of the weekly Top-10 prizes, as the majority of those people managed to get nearly every pick correct. So after one week I sit in 3,608th out of 31,559 entries. Now let’s look at the Phoenix race.

Fantasy just got a whole lot better thanks to Monkey Knife Fight. With fast-paced games like Rapid Fire and Either/Or, it’s never been easier to play fantasy and win. New to MKF? Get Exclusive $100 Deposit Match + Free $5 Game >

Ryan Dungey – In five career races in Phoenix, Dungey has two wins and has never finished worse than 8th. The Red Bull KTM rider is my lock for a Top-5 finish this week.

Justin Barcia – Bam Bam has raced twice in Phoenix and has a win and a 5th. After a mildly disappointing debut on the Joe Gibbs Racing Yamaha, look for Barcia to be in the hunt this week.

Chad Reed – The Aussie has never won in Phoenix but has seven Top-5 finishes in nine career starts in the 450 era. After a very disappointing 10th place finish in A1, Reed will be all out for a win this week.

Ken Roczen – After the dominating run he put on in Anaheim last week, it would be flat out dumb to leave him off this Contenders list. The RCH Racing Suzuki is FAST, and Ken has every opportunity to start a streak. The kid may be the most talented rider to enter Monster Energy Supercross since Ryan Villopoto.

Sleepers: This week’s Wild Card pick is 8th place

Trey Canard – The Honda rider has two Top-5’s and a 7th in 3 career Phoenix starts.

Davi Millsaps – Millsaps has three Top-10 finishes in Phoenix on inferior bikes, his bike is not inferior this year.

Andrew Short – Short is a consistent Top-10 rider and always a threat for a win or two during the season. He has seven Top-10’s(3 Top-5’s) in 8 career Phoenix starts.

Justin Brayton – Brayton has three career Top-10’s, including a 2nd place finish.

Jake Weimer – Weimer has a 2nd and a 6th in three career starts.

Brock Tickle – Tickle(hehe, I love his name) has an 8th place finish in Phoenix but had a great debut last week as a teammate of Ken Roczen on the fast RCH Racing Suzuki team.
