United’s injury problems at striker continue as Rooney has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a chipped bone in his toe. He picked up the injury in training before the Newcastle United match and was forced out of the match with what was originally said to be a bruised toe. Although he missed that match, he did participate in the Champions League 2nd leg loss to Bayern Munich after taking a pain killing injection. The injury will repair itself over time and Rooney should be ready to participate in the upcoming World Cup.
