The reason you clicked on this article is because you have made it to the motherland. The big dance. The kit and caboodle. The playoffs.
Anything can happen now. You just need to string together 3 wins.
To do that, you need to be ready for anything. Something bad will happen to your team in these coming three weeks. Your quarterback will suffer a concussion, your running back will pull a hammy, or your kicker will get caught selling kiddie porn.
Most likely, you will need to fill in for a running back. They take the biggest pounding, and this time of year most are worn down. A sound strategy is to always load up on high upside handcuffs- Kendall Hunter, Robert Turbin, Bryce Brown, etc. You can’t get enough of ’em.
Other than that, play your studs, be mindful of you match ups with flex guys and defenses, and trust the process. When Brandon LaFell goes berzerk on your bench and A.J. Green puts up a goose egg, you can’t kick yourself. That’s the way fantasy goes. Hopefully you haven’t been a fantasy dick and the fantasy powers that be will reward you handsomely.
Here are some other guys worth a roster spot that are probably on your waiver wire.
Josh McCown, Chicago
If he starts in Week 14, he has a great match up with the Cowboys. The man is on fire, and averages over 20 fantasy points per start. However, this all depends on if Cutler misses more time, so monitor this situation closely.
Donald Brown, Indianapolis
Trent Richardson, who? Brown is now the main man. He is now officially the starter in Indy, and getting the majority of snaps (52 compared to Richardson’s 12). He’s going to be a nice flex play during your playoff run.
Julian Edelman, New England
Edelman has been New England’s leading receiver over the last two weeks (18-211-2). He is Brady’s most trusted target behind Gronk, and is a PPR monster.
Brian Hartline, Miami
Hartline received 15 targets, and took advantage, posting a 9-127-1 stat line. He will be a nice plug and play wide out against the Steelers next week.
Ladarius Green, San Diego
This is the second straight week Green has been in this article, and he is still only owned in 8% of Yahoo leagues. Green comes from the Julius Thomas school of huge, athletic, freak tight ends. Rivers loves him in the red zone as well, as he has scored a touchdown in the last two games. If you have a wishy-washy tight end, Green will be a nice upgrade.
Zach Ertz, Philadelphia
Ertz is worth also worth a look if you own a lack luster tight end. Foles loves him and he seems to be a great fit in the Philly offense. His upcoming schedule is great. He gets the Lions in Week 14, then Minnesota and Chicago.
Good luck this week friends. If you have any questions, give me a holler on Twitter, @EHaleYea.
