So here in mid-February, we take a look at projected Week 1 starting quarterbacks. Think of it as conventional wisdom, seven months ahead of Kickoff Weekend 2013.

Denver – Peyton Manning
Detroit – Matthew Stafford
Green Bay – Aaron Rodgers
Houston – Matt Schaub
Indianapolis – Andrew Luck
Miami – Ryan Tannehill
Minnesota – Christian Ponder
New England – Tom Brady
New Orleans – Drew Brees
NY Giants – Eli Manning

Arizona – With Kevin Kolb’s $11M salary for 2013 being described by the Cardinals’ front office as something that needs to be addressed, the quarterback position is far from clear. Despite four quarterbacks taking snaps in 2012, none of them appear to the starter for Week 1 in 2013.
Baltimore – Joe Flacco – 2013’s multi-million dollar question is Baltimore’s likely, but not guaranteed, retention of the Super Bowl MVP.
Buffalo – Ryan Fitzpatrick vs Tavaris Jackson vs TBD Even WR Stevie Johnson thinks Fitzpatrick needs competition. Typically a new coaching regime can alter the future of the incumbent QB.
Cleveland – Brandon Weeden vs TBD. Typically a new coaching regime can alter the future of the incumbent QB.
Jacksonville – Blaine Gabbert vs TBD. Typically a new coaching regime can alter the future of the incumbent QB.
Kansas City – Typically a new coach….ahhhh….New head coach Andy Reid says it is “too early” to know what Matt Cassel’s future is in KC. Not exactly a vote of confidence.
NY Jets – Mark Sanchez? With one of the most convoluted cap-hit situations, the Jets may be in a no win situation with Sanchez. Still far to early to tell what will happen in the Meadowlands, but at least we know Tebowmania shouldn’t be a distraction.
Oakland – Carson Palmer vs Terrell Pryor vs TBD There is a solid chance Oakland will be in the same spot in 2014; top of the draft and not a franchise quarterback in sight.
Philadelphia – Nick Foles vs Michael Vick. Eagles new HC Chip Kelly has stated that the starting job will be an open battle between a freshly re-inked Vick and second-year Arizona standout Foles.
Washington – Kirk Cousins over Robert Griffin III (injured). With no concrete timetable on an RGIII return to the Nation’s Capital, Cousins could start Week 1, which may turn into the majority of the season.
