Daily Fantasy Basketball: Lineups for April 11th

by Josh Honses On April 11, 2014

Enjoy it folks, it’s the last Friday of the NBA regular season. I know some teams are looking to wind down for the end of the season, but daily fantasy basketball never stops until the final whistle. We hoops heads have 13 games to look forward to this evening. Last night was a slow night with only two games, so tonight is a much welcomed full evening of games. Lets jump right into my plays

Only five games left this season. It’s crazy to know that everything comes down to these final five games for some teams. It seems like the season just started last month, can’t believe how time flies. It’s been a fun one for daily play and roto leagues, at least for me. But let’s not dwell on something that isn’t lost yet. Not to mention we will have daily play picks for the playoffs as well,

My dad is a police officer in New Orleans and always shares me with different stories from his life on the streets. Apparently, there was a little old lady that was shot on a traffic stop that was causing a lot of controversy on Tuesday. From what he told me, she was pulled over for speeding in a school zone when things went very badly . She was smoking a cigarette when the officer approached

Well, it’s an extremely light two game schedule tonight in the NBA. Most of the daily focus will be on baseball, but if you didn’t notice the San Antonio Spurs have won 19 games in a row (trivia: when was the last time SA lost and to whom). Tonight, that streak will be tested greatly as the Spurs travel to OKC to take on Kevin Durant and the Thunder. Oklahoma City has been San Antonio’s

Wednesday night has been my favorite and most profitable day of the week lately. Last two weeks, I swept the board both Wednesday nights, including 2 seconds in the very prestige Swagdome tournament. I am looking to continue the roll tonight with a full slate of exciting NBA action. Only 2 of the 13 games have double digit spreads, and 3 games have totals over 210 points. Tonight’s slate is shaping up to be another

With another light night in NBA hoops tonight, it’s important to get the right guys in your lineup. I have some plays tonight that should be right on the money to do just that. I do have on sit in particular but, on a light night of action with only three games, I am hard pressed to veer away from too many guys. All my prices are according to DraftKings. Good luck, and allons-y with

I believe this is the first time this fantasy season where I am not a fan of most of the backcourt matchups tonight. Normally, I am all about playing as many guards as possible in my lineup, but tonight I am glad that I don’t have to. The best way I can put it is that guards are boobs. Everybody loves them, and it’s hard to find something I enjoy more on a nightly basis.

Wednesday night offers another full slate of exciting NBA action. Only one of the ten games have double digit spreads, and three of the ten games have totals of at least 210 points. Tonight’s card should be another night of close, competitive, and high scoring games. I love when I look at the NBA slate of games and see very few double digit spreads with a good amount of totals over 210 points. On nights

I’m sure some people are looking at tonight’s games and think that it would be the best night to pass on daily fantasy. Only four games on the books, while the rest of the week has plenty more action. Personally, I love games like tonight where the pickens are slim. It means that your team must be solid all the way around, and requires more skill than big game nights. Three of the four games

Wow, what a whirlwind weekend. 50 hours of watching March Madness, plus baseball drafts had my mind feeling like mush. A refreshing 6 hours of sleep has me ready to go again and with the Madness taking a backseat for a few days, it’s time to get back to the task at hand…NBA DFS !! Seasonal leagues should be entering their final weeks and NBA teams prepare for the playoffs (or tanking for the lottery).

With all this March madness going on, it’s easy to forget about daily hoops. Some people are living one breath at a time in hopes to win a billion dollars from Warren Buffet. But most people are like me, and don’t have a shot in hell already with a busted bracket. If you’re one of the lucky thousands left with a perfect bracket, than please continue to live in that dream world. I’ll see you

Wednesday night offers another full slate of exciting NBA action. Only three of the ten games have double digit spreads, and almost half of the games tonight have totals over 210 points. Tonight’s card is a little more tricky with potential blowouts in several key games. The key to tonight is not to try to stack too many players in those potential blowout games, yet try to find the one or two players that still

Crazy things happen all the time to me. I said that Thomas Robinson is the guy to play last Friday and he finished the game with 2 points and only 7 minutes on the court. Then, I mentioned Steph Curry being on a minutes cap, so he isn’t worth the money. He then proceeds to drop 50 fantasy points and plays over 30 minutes for the first time since his injury. Hell, even my Caesar

People have asked me what my strategy is when choosing my guys for daily play. I am going to share with you exactly what I have told them: take risks and don’t second-guess yourself. See that a guy is a cheap play, but don’t like the matchup? Do it anyway. Think a guy coming back from injury will go ham even with a minutes cap? I say go for it. The bottom line is simple:

Yes March Madness is upon us, with conference tournaments in full swing. However, there is always work to be done in NBA DFS. Its a typical Thursday night in the Association, with just three games on tap. We get OKC looking to extract revenge from their Sunday loss to the Lakers. The Thunder are a huge 17 point favorite, but a high total of 228 leaves plenty of scoring to be had if you’re concerned

We begin another week of DFS basketball this Monday night with 7 games on the NBA schedule. The highest total on the board tonight (218) is from LA where the Clippers host the Suns. The Clips are a 10 point favorite there. Besides the large spread indicating a possible blowout , another problem has actually been a down month for the Clips “big fantasy 3″ of CP3, Blake and DeAndre. All are below 33 DS

Of all the different times in the year, today is my favorite day of all to be from New Orleans. For those of you that don’t know, today is Mardi Gras. This means the city shuts down, and everyone consumes his or her weight in alcohol. Body parts are shown for beads, or just for fun. People pee in dark alleys, which is usually followed by a car ride to the police station for public

If somebody asked you to write down the top three power forwards in the league today, whom would you rank as your number one? I would venture to say that Kevin Love and Blake Griffin dominate most people’s lists, as well as they should. Andre Brown signs with the Texans

Andre Brown is headed to Houston to join the Texans. Brown is an intriguing player that saw his season derailed due to injury in 2013. As a back up to Arian Foster, he will have flex value certain weeks. Brown should see a decent amount of carries. Training camp will give indication on what the split may be. In addition he could see regular snaps if Foster were to miss any significant time, Brown would have tremendous value.

Mike Williams traded to the Bills

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have traded Mike Williams to the Buffalo Bills in exchange for a 6th round draft pick this year. While 2013 was a major disappointment for Williams, he has shown flashes of being a productive receiver in both 2010 and 2012 when he tallied 900+ yards with 9 and 11 touchdowns respectively. He should compete for starting time with Robert Woods and Steve Johnson. Assuming Manuel can stay healthy, Williams could bounce back in 2014.

Ravens Sign Owen Daniels to one-year deal

The Baltimore Ravens have signed former Houston Texans tight end Owen Daniels to a one year contract.  Gary Kubiak is now the offensive coordinator so the two will reunite.  Daniels, now 32 years old is not the elite offensive tight end he once was.  When healthy Daniels is as consistent as any tight end.  Dennis Pitta is in charge of the TE1 duties in Baltimore, making Daniels no more then a bye week replacement.
