So, who am I targeting this week?

Brad Keselowski – 9/1

Brad Keselowski is on absolute fire right now. He is coming into Atlanta after wins in two of the last three Nascar races. The race he didn’t win? He finished 7th. In fact, over the last six races, Keselowski has three Top-five finishes and four Top-10’s. He has been dominant throughout the race, leading the most laps with 305.

At Atlanta, Keselowski has also been incredibly dominant. He is the reigning champion after taking the checkered flag in 2019. In 2018 there was only one car separating him from a trip to victory lane. Had he got there, it would have been his third straight victory after winning at this track in 2017.

While this number is shorter than I normally prefer to target, it still feels like there is value in the number. A week ago at Bristol, Kyle Busch was 4/1 to win the race. Busch has dominated Bristol like Keslowski has dominated Atlanta. I will be heavy on Keslowski this week targeting him for a Top-3 finish and driver match-up props.

Kurt Busch – 16/1

I’m going back to the Kurt Busch well this week, especially when I can get him at 16/1. Over the last six races, Busch has been running incredibly well. He has the third best average finish at 7.17 which includes two Top-5’s and a staggering five Top-10’s!

Busch, like Keselowski has had a ton of success at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. Over the last four races, he has finished in the Top-10 every time and Top-5 twice. Over the last two races at Atlanta, Busch has led the 4th most laps.

Like with Keselowski, I will be targeting Busch for a Top-3 or Top-5 finish in addition to the outright. I will also look to take advantage of driver match-up props.

Erik Jones – 7/1 for Top-3

On the latest Angle of Pursuit podcast, my podcast partner Brian Twining mentioned his optimism for Erik Jones. While initially he wasn’t on my list of targets, digging deeper into the data, I am on board.

Over the last six races Jones has been running well and has the 9th best finishing average. He has three Top-10s and two Top-5 over that span. Heading to Atlanta, a track where Jones has had success I expect him to keep performing well.

The last two trips to Atlanta Motor Speedway have resulted in a 7th and 11th place finish. I expect him to improve this week and will be targeting a Top-3 finish. As tempting as the 25/1 outright winner wager is, and believe me, I don’t hate throwing a few shekels that way, the +700 price tag still provides a nice payday with more wiggle room.

Good luck on Sunday and hopefully you can cash some tickets!
