NFL 2019 Week 9 Streaming IDP Players

There are some heavy hitters on a bye this week. Your streaming options are going to be all about opportunities.

LINEBACKER

Zach Cunningham, Linebacker, Houston Texans @ Jacksonville Jaguars

Cunningham is owned in 15% of fantasy leagues. So while you are lamenting the loss of JJ Watt, you need to grab you some Cunningham. Here is why: the Texans are playing the Jaguars this week. The Jaguars running back Leonard Fournette has 163 rushing attempts so far this season. In the last four weeks he hasn’t carried the ball less than 19 times, and that means opportunity.

Cunningham leads the Texans in tackles, and the Jaguars offense is generous to the linebacker position. The Jaguars are giving up the seventh most fantasy points to the linebacker position, while inside linebackers are averaging 14 tackles per game.

DEFENSIVE LINE

Olivier Vernon, Defensive End, Cleveland Browns @ Denver Broncos

Vernon has 5% ownership in ESPN leagues. For this week that is an outrageous stat. The Browns will be playing the Denver Broncos. The Broncos are in all-out “which way did he go” mode. Their offensive line is a sieve that generates penalties. Oh yeah, and their starting quarterback and their “quarterback of the future” will not be participating in this game. Instead they will suite up Brandon Allen, for his very first NFL start.

Vernon stats are pedestrian having amassed six tackles, one sack, one tackle for loss and one quarterback hit. Last week he was on 69 of the defensive snaps, that is on the field for 100% of defensive plays. This week Vernon should earn his money and your fantasy approval.

DEFENSIVE BACKS

Roderic Teamer, Safety, Los Angeles Chargers v Green Bay Packers

Teamer has 21% ownership in ESPN leagues. According to Draftkings.com, Teamer has played 100% of the defensive snaps in every game this season. He has 14 solo tackles, one sack, and an interception in his last two games. Last week he finished as DB1. The week before he finished as DB7.

This week he gets a Packers team coming in full steam. That should keep him in his top 10 DB status.

Kareem Jackson, Cornerback, Denver Broncos v Cleveland Browns

Jackson has 20% ownership in ESPN leagues. No one is excited about the Broncos but don’t let that cloud your judgement.

Remember when the Cleveland Browns were the “IT” team for 2019 season? Ah, memories. Quarterback Baker Mayfield has thrown 12 interceptions to 6 touchdowns. He has been sacked 21 times and his completion percentage hangs around 57.

Both teams are offensively challenged. However, this is about the defense and that is good. Jackson has 36 total tackles, one quarterback hurry, four passes defended, and one interception. He should pad those in the Mile High City this Sunday.
