NFL 6-Pack: NFL ATS Week 7 (2019)

Aaron Marcotte and I are back for a fresh batch of NFL ATS picks as the season rolls along. Week 6 was not kind to either of us but were back on the horse this week to find some winners. Shouts to the Cardinals for the on the field win a week ago for helping me avoid the goose egg.

Aaron has been solid thus far and currently sitting 3 games over .500. I am not there yet but it’s still early and there is time to turn this ship around.

Week 6 Results:

Aaron: 1-1-1

Kyle: 1-2-0

Season Results:

Aaron: 10-7-1

Kyle: 7-11-0

Last Week: 1-1-1

Season to Date: 10-7-1

So who do we like in Week 7 of the NFL season?

Kyle’s Picks

Indianapolis Colts -1 vs Houston Texans

This is a very interesting spot for the Indianapolis Colts facing a Texans team that has been impressive the past couple weeks. Deshaun Watson has looked like an MVP candidate in wins over Atlanta and Kansas City.

Luckily for Indianapolis, they come into this game off of a bye which couldn’t have come at a better time. The extra week allowed them to get both Darius Leonard and Malik Hooker back which is huge for their defense. The time off also helped TY Hilton get healthy to face a Texans team he has dominated in the majority of their previous match-ups.

I expect the Colts to perform well at home and cover the very short number.

Pick: Colts -1

Philadelphia Eagles +2.5 at Dallas Cowboys

Things have really gone off the rails for the Dallas Cowboys after their 3-0 start. Now looking back, wins over the Giants, Dolphins and Redskins are far from impressive. Now they have lost 3 in a row to New Orleans, Green Bay, and the Jets.

Now they come into this spot with multiple injured offensive linemen, likely no Amari Cooper and injuries on the defensive side of the ball. The Eagles defense has been awful against opposing passers but i’m not sure they will have the horses to compete in this one.

Look for the road team to cover the number on the road and have a real shot to win the game on the field.

Pick: Eagles +2.5

New York Giants and Arizona Cardinals – Over 50.5

The game between the Giants and Cardinals is one of only two games this week that feature a total over 50 points. Both offenses have been productive with their rookie quarterbacks under center.

The Giants welcome back both Saquon Barkley and Evan Engram this week. A welcomed sight for a team that could have used some fire power a week ago. The Cardinals were an offensive juggernaut a week ago and I expect to see much of the same this week.

Both of these defenses have issues stopping opposing passers. It should allow these offenses to meet or exceed 30 points this week and comfortably go over the total.

Pick: Over 50.5

New York Giants -3 vs. Arizona Cardinals

I’m right back to my old ways picking the Giants yet again. This time, I’m confident they can pull out the win/cover. The Giants have come back to earth a bit after Daniel Jones’ scorching start, but I think it was mainly due to injuries. Evan Engram and Saquon Barkley return this week against a weak Arizona secondary.

The Cardinals are improving as a team, but they have to travel to the east coast and play an early morning game. The Giants should be re-invigorated by their returning superstars and run away with this one.

Pick: Giants -3

New Orleans Saints +3 @ Chicago Bears

Teddy “Two-Gloves” Bridgewater is a man among boys in the NFL. This guy does not lose. The public is going to see the Bears, at home, coming off a bye, and go nuts over this line. The Saints are the better team here and should outright win this game. Worst-case, they lose by 3 and push. I’m taking the far-superior team, quarterback, and offense – with or without Kamara.

Pick: Saints +3

Los Angeles Rams -3 @ Atlanta Falcons

I’m sticking with the 3-point spreads here for my final pick of week 7. Last week was my first win in my 3rd pick, so take this one with a grain of salt. Yes, the Rams were embarrassed by the Niners last week. Yes, their offensive line is in shambles at the moment. But… have you seen the Falcons this year?

Matt Ryan is playing out of his mind, but mainly because he must if he wants to survive. They cannot establish a running game and their line is atrocious. Aaron Donald is going to have a field day and Jalen Ramsey is going to come out and dominate, energized to be with a new team. This has the classic makings of a shootout, with the Rams coming out on top. I don’t love that it’s in Atlanta, but if the Rams “only” win by 3 and push, we will all be happy.

Pick: Rams -3
