Time to Shine or Ride the Pine: Week 7 Start or Sit

Week 6 saw the revival of Adrian Peterson, as he ran over, through, and sometimes around the Dolphins, while disgruntled wide receiver Stefon Diggs exploded for 167 yards and 3 touchdowns against the lowly Eagles pass defense. Week 7 start or sit pegs another senior citizen, and under performing receiver to prosper. Cheers to success this week.

Frank Gore ([email protected] 1pm est)

The indestructible machine named Frank Gore is still chugging along. He has run for over 60 yards in each of the last 4 games and in Week 7 it should only get better. Miami is allowing just over 30 pts/gm to running backs and just let another senior citizen in Adrian Peterson, to run over them. Buffalo sports a much better rushing attack, as well as a much more efficient offense than the Redskins. Miami will find it difficult to sustain drives against an elite Buffalo defense, leaving Gore and company with ample field time to rack up points. Even with the potential return of Devin Singletary, Gore will continue to lead the Bills’ top 10 rushing attack, in a game where killing clock may begin early. The old man is a safe bet for 60+ and a td this week against a horrendous Dolphins team.

Prediction: 17 car 86 yards 1 td, 1 rec 8 yards: 15.9 pts

T.Y. Hilton ([email protected] 1pm est)

Prior to missing Week 4, Hilton had caught a touchdown in each of the first three games. Now, fresh off a bye week and fully healthy, he gets to face a Texans team who is allowing the 5th most fantasy points to receivers in 2019 and happens to be the team Hilton has dominated throughout his career. Another dominating performance is on tap, as the Texans will score on Indy forcing the Colts to air it out more than wanted. T.Y. might not be the same burner from his younger days but he can still get open and will wreak havoc on Houston’s DB’s this week.

Prediction: 7 rec 86 yards 1 td: 18.1 pts

Mike Williams ([email protected] 4:05pm est)

The former 1st rounder has come alive over the last three weeks, playing over 90% of the offensive snaps while alleviating lingering injury concerns and has seen 30 targets over this span. He and the Chargers travel to Nashville this week, where a very formidable Titans pass D awaits. Tennessee has held every opponent under 250 pass yards while not giving up more than 20 points in any game so far. Williams has yet to find pay-dirt in ’19, but his increase in usage, the returns of offensive weapons Melvin Gordon and Hunter Henry, along with his elite jump ball skills, make a score a matter of when not if. The when will be this week as LA will use Big Mike’s size against the smaller Titans corners and those who have reluctantly stuck with Williams will be rewarded.

Prediction 6 rec 90 yards 1 td: 18 pts
Kenny G's run atop the charts will come to an end against Minnesota

Ride the Pine

Raiders WR ([email protected] 1pm est)

The Raiders are wafer thin at wide out right now, with Tyrell Williams nursing a plantar fasciitis  injury and newly acquired Zay Jones, being the most legitimate threat. Oakland’s offense is literally running through the running game and Tight Ends, with outside throws few and far between. There just isn’t an option on the outside seeing a consistent amount of looks to play.

Prediction: Run away (add Zay Jones in deeper leagues as a bench stash)

Kenny Golladay ([email protected] 1pm est)

Kenny G has produced some sweet jazz in Motown over the last two weeks, racking up 10 catches for 188 yards and 2 scores. He has been prone to let down games over his career and one is coming this week against the Minnesota Vikings. In three career games against Minnesota, Golladay hasn’t passed 61 yards receiving, he’s never scored and only secured over 50% of his targets once. This year’s version of the purple people eaters isn’t as good as years past, but is still top 10 against receivers and has kept every opponent to 21 or less points. Golladay will find it difficult to get open against the Vikings and put up similar numbers to his previous three career games against them.

Prediction: 5 rec 63 yards: 8.8 pts
