The Dallas Cowboys wasted no time improving their squad after falling to the Washington Redskins in heartbreak fashion on Sunday. The Dallas Cowboys sent their 2019 1st round pick to the Oakland Raiders in exchange for Amari Cooper.
Cooper was the 4th overall pick in the 2015 draft. He started his career with back-to-back 1,000 yard seasons, but has only managed 960 yards over his last 20 games. We should expect to see Cooper lineup outside opposite rookie wide receiver Michael Gallup with Cole Beasley in the slot.
The trade signified a full-on fire sale for the Oakland Raiders. The Raiders now have 3 1st round picks in the 2019 draft and 5 total 1st round picks for the 2019 & 2020 drafts. As the Raiders prepare to move to Las Vegas in 2020, it is obvious they’re in tank mode.

This became more clear as Oakland put RB Marshawn Lynch on injured reserve. He would not be eligible to return until December 24th. It appears as if Lynch has played his final game for the Silver and Black.
3 Takeaways for Fantasy Football
- The biggest winner in my book is Ezekiel Elliott. This trade may force teams to at least respect the Cowboys passing which will keep Elliott from facing as many 8 and 9 man boxes.
- Jordy Nelson & Martavis Bryant now become Derek Carr‘s biggest weapons outside of Jared Cook who was already considered Carr’s favorite target.
- I don’t see this effecting Carr’s or Dak’s stock much. Both QB’s are considered QB 2s and I don’t see this move changing that.
